I went with family for the first time and it was good. I'm allergic to chili peppers, so was concerned about eating here. There were enough really good choices on the buffet that I had no problems. Good albondigas, fruit salad, several types of ceviche, big fresh shrimp, etc. Price point is very reasonable and they were great to our... More

Great restaurant. Easy to locate, near the freeway, parking lot can be a bit tight but other parking within easy walking distance and room out back for truck/trailer lengths. Chips& pico de galio While you wait for your meal. Food is hot, well cooked but correctly (not overdone). Taste is excellent and wait staff attentive. One of our favorite all... More

Everything was great....service and food. It's the best Mexican food in town. Great location although the parking can be tight.

I had a pork tamale and a chile rellano. It was good. The margarita was also, good. The service was friendly and good. It was a typical Mexican restaurant.

It's been a while since I've been to ElGitano, but IMO, the quality of food has gone downhill ever since they set up a separate kitchen to do prep for all of their restaurants, and deliver prepped ingredients to them. Their service is mediocre for the U.S., and likely average or decent for a typical restaurant in Mexico which they... More

This is a good sized restaurant & has a huge parking lot, easy access to roads & close to I5 freeway. It is, seems to me, overly noisy given how many tables & people that are in there. Possibly they just need to work on gettings some sound tiles to absorb the noise part. This place serves a broad menu... More

If you're traveling on I-5 near Mount Vernon, Washington and need a tasty and refreshing break from the road, try El Gitano. Carmen greeted us so warmly and the service was pleasant and efficient. The atmosphere was comfortable - there's a lovely patio space, but we chose an air-conditioned inside booth on the 80-degree day. The food was fresh, well-seasoned... More

Maybe it's me, but it seems like if you don't speak the Spanish language you are treated a little differently here. Service and food quality can be inconsistent. Just hope you are there on a good day....
