I Like To Know The Price

If I was rating based on the taste and quality of the food this would definitely be 5 stars. I had to take off a star for the lack of prices on the chalkboard menu. That wouldn't have been so bad but is asked the server how much the side orders were and she said about $2.50 when I went... read more

Since I know my way around Hungarian cuisine, I can attest that several of the daily menu items are far from the native tradition. While the chicken paprika may come close to an authentic recipe, and the spätzle or cabbage rolls are OK, what passes for a pörkölt (or gyulás as it's known elsewhere) doesn't bear any trace of the... Beware, while the food is decent there are only three dishes served each day and, the biggest problem, there are no prices posted for anything. We went here and had two plates of food (that are dished out of the deli counter in front of you) two beers and one small dessert and the bill was $60! Really ridiculous. The... More

Tiny menu. Today it was a schnitzel, goulash, and (dang! cannot remember). I went with the schnitzel and I've had many good schnitzel's in Europe and US. The Jaeger Schnitzel was one of the best I have ever had anywhere in the world!. Add to that the potatoes, Hungarian coleslaw (pickled, shredded vegetables), and the pistachio & fruit cake (sorry... This is a small restaurant in a strip mall style shopping center that can easily be overlooked. Disregard this place only if you wish to deny yourself a wonderful homestyle meal that is way better than general restaurant fare. The menu apparently changes daily and can also change during the day if they run out of a dish. The night... More

We stumbled across this small family bistro a couple years ago before a trip to Eastern Europe and thought we'd try the cuisine before arriving in Budapest. Since then, we have returned numerous times for the home cooked flavors of Budapest Bistros' menu. Although they don't provide a full menu, we have never been disappointed with any of the choices... Found this place by accident. Looks like a deli. Atmosphere does not match price of food. Love their cabbage rolls. Would love to come back but turned off by the price.

Just like mother made. Being of Hungarian decent and visiting Budapest the cabbage rolls were made and taste just like they were made in the old country. Don’t expect a large menu when eating Hungarian

I grew up 6 years in Germany/Austria, my husband often went to a Hungarian restaurant in New York City. We find the food at Budapest Bistro to be authentic, delicious, and well worth going. We have been 5 times already in 2 weeks. Every dish we have tried, and we have tried most all of them, has been well made... More

Dropped by this cute little bistro for dinner, no enjoyed it very much. Being of hungarian descent, I knew what to expect. Food was amazing, dessert delish. Service was a little strange. Meaning, the waitress must have been new, she never brought menus,(although, I knew there were some, because I saw them when we paid). She seemed a little frazzled,... More
