Willows Inn Restaurant offers up a locally farmed, fished, and foraged 17-course tasting menu. I was skeptical about the meal being worth the price ($165 USD) but was convinced by the reviews and press. Glad I was swayed. Yes, it's pricey, but such a special and unforgettable meal. Tip: one person order the wine pairing; the other, the juice. The... More

As the Michelin Guide says about their highest rating of three stars: "Worth a special journey." The Willows is certainly worth a special journey. Beautiful small dining room in a cabin-like inn overlooking a expansive view of the San Juans, the Gulf Islands, and the Cascades. Unfussy but knowledgeable service (none of the silly, overly detailed lectures about ingredients, but... More

I still dream about this one bite of food. I wanted to eat about 8 of them. The hearth bread with pan drippings - whoa! The smoked salmon - magic. There was a special dish of wheatberries, and venison with a blueberry sauce that was spectacular. This was such a lovely evening, quite an indulgence.

This was one of my favorite dining experiences ever. It was about a 17 course meal with the most amazing attention to every detail that enhances dining, but completely unpretentious and un-fussy. The anti-Herb Farm, with no unnecessary flourishes and no obtrusive staff. Incredible service, incredible food, incredible setting. Incredibly pricy, too.

As soon as we checked into the place, we began to see what all the hype is about. The surrounding garden is filled with herbs, edible flowers and plants. There is an active smokehouse on the premises, preparing the night's smoked fish. Up the road is the organic garden that provides most of the produce. The inn itself is delightful,... More

This was our third pleasant experience here and fortunately we reserved just before Chef earned his James Beard award, in future it will be more difficult to book a table in this limited single seating venue. Service is impeccable from start to finish and small works of food art start appearing one tiny course after another. The emphasis is all... More

If you want to experience the art of cooking at it's highest level, this is the place. Blaine and his talented kitchen are simply magical creating food I never imagined possible. This is a tasting menu so one should not expect a heaping plate of anything. Rather, it is a 19 course journey through what a great chef in the... More

We had an amazing dinner at Willows Inn from cocktails on the patio through the various courses and snacks everything was absolutely fantastic. Fresh, fresh, fresh and simply but elegantly prepared dishes just kept us entranced. We had the juice pairing and shared a fabulous bottle of Columbia Valley Syrah. The casual atmosphere belies the very serious cooking going on... More

The arrival of Chef Blaine Wetzel has single handedly increased the tourist traffic to rural Lummi Island according to the locals. The main house of the Willows Inn where the restaurant is located, is located on a bluff overlooking the water and islands and is sort of "farmhouse funky". The Inn has rooms all over the island, but the least... More

In order to get a reservation here for dinner (required), you must book a room with the Willows Inn ahead of time, or call within 2 weeks of your date to see if they have availability. They have several places to stay off the main property, and a few right there. If you are lucky you can stay at the... More
