A pleasant surprise

My family and I visited the Lightship Restaurant for dinner during the Memorial Day weekend and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. From the outside, it is nothing impressive. I expected it to be a dive restaurant/bar, but I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The interior has... read more

The service at this place was excellent! Prompt, courteous and professional. The menu is full of great seafood, so I thought to try a seafood omelette which was delicious. The "home fried potatoes" were thoroughly cooked with that great crust. We could hardly sit our coffee cups down when we next looked, they were full. I will definitely make this... More

We spontaneously decided to dine here one night as it was right next to our hotel. Our first waitress wasn't as attentive as much as I'm used to but the bartender, forgot his name but nice guy that makes a mean margarita, took over and was very attentive. Prime rib was great, as was the calamari with the Thai sauce... More

The seafood specials are great. Fish and chips and shrimp louies. Cocktails were also good. Prices are very reasonable. Off season hours are not the best. Access is good but road side signage is small and easily missed. Worth the effort to find it.

This was at our hotel so we had breakfast after checking out. Staff was very friendly, restaurant is clean and the food is actually pretty good considering the shape the hotel is in. Good value for breakfast.

We had the Cod and Salmon Fish and Chips. Wife's Fries were under cooked and the Salmon was very fishy tasting. My Cod was way over cooked. Also the Batter had Dill in it and All I tasted was Dill. Their chowder looked like clam Gravy and had Carrots in it. I've had New England Chowder in all New England... More

My family and I love this restaurant. From the fresh caught steamer clams to the $1 breakfast. There is no better place on the peninsula.

Do not miss this one! It is rare today to find a restaurant that prepare food from scratch. Search no more. This is it. Soups and most items are homemade. If they aren't they will tell you. Best bargain for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday when they offer a mix and match menu for $1 per pick. I had 2... More

The food was good....server friendly but slow service. We arrived at 4:20 and left a 5:55 and were the only people in the only restaurant. If you have plenty of time I would recommend this place.....we did find the waitress very personable and would eat here again.
