Over priced and over cooked. And full of very hot oil (fish and chips) At least it was hot and served with a smile.

Fresh made bread, innovative sandwiches, unbeatable prices - what's not to love. Positioned across the street from a chain sandwich shop, it only enhances their fare since the food is just so darn good! I was full before I was finished but ate the rest because I just couldn't stop myself! Delicious!

Fresh home made bread, crisp ingredients. The best Philly cheese steaks and smoothies you'll find on the peninsula, makes a perfect sack lunch for a picnic. Great price for the quality of food and the sandwiches are Huge you get lunch plus a snack for later. You can tell the owner Jason puts his heart and soul into his business... More

My husband and I tried this place. We shared a turkey combo and a tuna combo. The bread is thick-cut and fresh. There's a chain sub-shop across the road. I can't imagine why anyone would go there unless they don't know about Surfer Sands and don't want to risk the unknown. The sandwiches were very tasty. Their sodas are in... More

Highly rated by others so we checked it out. Rated as one of the best places in town but the cost and quality of food were disappointing. 8 bucks for a sandwhich that could be made at home...and only seating available was a couple picnic benches. The bread is made fresh and was the best part of the sandwhich, in... More

I am a Logistics Section Chief for the Department of Homeland Security. I was managing the food services for a large training exercise being conducted nearby and I contacted Jason at Surfer Sands to provide lunch. I did not provide an accurate head count to him until 2 hours before I needed to pick up the food. I ordered 123... More

I haven't eaten at Surfer Sands, since they sold, but I am hopeful that they make their Philly Cheese Steaks the same as before, because they were the absolute ONLY place I have ever found that makes them like they do in Philly. Only way they could improve them is to use "Cheese-Wiz", but that would probably take a larger... More

We visited here after reading an excellent review in the newspaper by the local food critic who basically hates almost every restaurant around... (an exaggeration, of course). Anyway, I think I had built-up my expectations based on the newspaper review. The sandwiches were okay, maybe a little better than average. Only out-door seating, so be prepared to battle the bees... The sandwiches were good, but the menu seemed a bit limited. The prices were a little high, but not enough to put us off. Would probably eat here again.
