Very friendly waiter, food just ok

We let price decide where to have dinner which was a big mistake. Although the waiter was very pleasant and helpful, the quality of the food was lacking. Next time we will read the reviews first and not look at price.

Food was good , prices fair for touristy area . Service was quick . Many German dishes , we tried 2 that were each good portions and tasty . German decor but pop music played in the background . Better to have german music to keep the theme .

We had dinner one night at the Baren Haus for some German food. We've never really eaten German before, and our server was very patient and informative with all our questions about the different food. Our order arrived quickly, it was correct and - most importantly - it was delicious! I have no idea if it's "authentic" or not, but... More

We've been to Leavenworth at least three times a year for the last 15 years. We've never eaten here, so we decided to give it a try. Bad mistake. We were immediately sat, on a Thursday afternoon, ourselves and three children under the age of 6. There was one other party of two in the restaurant. There was one waiter.... More

We hesitated because the restaurant was empty but we decided to eat anyway. Adam seated us by the window and he too commented on the slow Sunday evening. He was knowledgeable about the local wines they offered and we had an excellent bottle of Chardonnay for $17!!!. We both ordered the Wiener schnitzel which came with sauerkraut and red cabbage... went here yesterday. it was super hot inside and service was very poor. waited and waited then a waiter came over and waited on a new table. up front they had a sports channel on and a crowd of young people drinking beer watching sports!. if i wanted to go to a sports bar, i would have chosen one.

I used to work for Jacob Wirth's German Restaurant in Boston which is over 140 years old. Ate a lot of very good German food. The Baren Haus has great German food. I've had their Sauerbraten, Wiener Schnitzel, Jagar Schnitzel. Their bratwurst and German sausage are very yummy. They serve awesome red cabbage and very good sauerkraut also. Would highly... More

We tried a good variety. Jager schnitzel was good lightly breaded not greasy gravy was rich and dark, sausage sandwich was great came with spatzle kraut and spicy mustard perfect combo with a Hefewiezen. My daughter had the lasagne, not German but huge and very good.
