Authentic German Food in a Nice Setting

Planning to be in Leavenworth for 3 days I wanted to experience various dining options. Of course for the first night it had to be German without being "sausage-on-a-bun" fare, that can only be washed down with a stein of beer, that is found everywhere (even the Chinese place) in Leavenworth... read more

Of course for the first night it had to be German without being "sausage-on-a-bun" fare, that can only be washed down with a stein of beer, that is found everywhere (even the Chinese place) in Leavenworth. Finally decided to try Mozart's, on Front St, which... More

Mozart's is located in the Bavarian themed town of Leavenworth, WA. We asked the receptionist at our hotel for a dinner recommendation featuring authentic German food. She offered three suggestions in varying price ranges. We selected Mozart's. It was the most expensive as it seemed to offer fine dining. We were NOT disappointed. The restaurant is located upstairs in a... More

The restaurant is on the second floor in the center of busy Leavenworth. The interior was dark and could benefit for a redecoration. There were a few of us and the food was either passable or too bad to be eaten. We had a soup that was worse that what you can buy on a can. The wiener schnitzel was... More

Mozart's has recently gone through extensive renovations only two months ago. We have a darker, romantic and cozy dining room adjacent to our bar which provides intimacy for our adult diners. In the front of the restaurant, we have three quaint, European-inspired dining rooms, some with large windows and french doors leading to our lovely balcony. Outdoor seating is available.... More

We only stayed for a drink, a salad and dessert. Not disappointed at all. We stayed a bit longer because we loved to listen to the piano played by that young boy. We walked in as it was very hot outside and were given a table. As we had big lunch before, it was impossible to eat that much. We... More

We walked in for dinner w/o a reservation on a Friday and were seated promptly. Service was very good but a little spotty at the end. It wasn't that crowded. Food was good. I ordered the wiener schnitzel. I swapped my side for a side of red cabbage. The veal came out OK but was a little dry. Could have... More

We had the Jaeger schnitzel and a pork sandwich. Both were really good. My pork was cooked really well. The prices are a bit high but it's a touristy town so not unexpected.

I prefer to eat light, which doesn't describe typical German fare, but when in Leavenworth, you make an exception. Sort of. Cafe Mozart's menu appealed to me because they offered many traditional German dishes, but prepared in a contemporary way. They also had lighter, even healthier dishes, all with a Bavarian touch. The restaurant is lovely, classical music playing softly... More

We ate here and the food was delicious, the restaurant and atmosphere was great but they could use more wait staff to accommodate the crowd.

Our original plans were altered by the restaurant being closed, so we wandered into this place as a recommended second. So glad we did, it was nearly empty so we had basically 2 servers which enjoyed chatting with us. If you sit in the front it's more lit from the front windows but we chose the darker romantic ambiance. The... More
