This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!

Little taste of Germany

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The red cabbage was delicious unfortunately the meat was overlooked and tough. However, I would give it a second try.

Being a local here, I do like the food. However, it is just too expensive for what you get. This is typical of most restaurants in Leavenworth. I recommend a trip to Germany for the REAL AUTHENTIC FOOD that this restaurant purports to provide. Save your Money. Don't eat here if you are on a budget.

This is another must-stop destination when we visit Leavenworth -- the food is terrific, and the atmosphere is, too. I was a little disappointed that the Jaeger Schnitzel is now prepared "Swiss style" (unbreaded, with a big slice of Swiss Cheese on top, and probably won't order that again, but the Wiener Schnitzel and Schwein Haxen were INCREDIBLE. We took... More

The atmosphere and service were amazing! The cordon bleu and fried potatoes were delicious and it was very nice having a gluten free menu. I really recommend the chocolate iced, hazelnut cake, a gluten free dessert.

So disappointed by the quality of the food I ordered Friday evening. I ordered a weiner schnitzel. It came with cold potato salad. I prefered spatzle and red cabbage so I make a switch. My husband ordered a schnitzel with spatzle and mushroom gravy and red cabbage. When my dish arrived I already knew by looking at it that it... More

It's been 30 years since I was in Germany, but from my memory, this is what German food tastes like. Even if it was not authentic, it was amazing. I would highly recommend the jaegger schnitzel. The service was top notch. I would recommend reservations or arriving early. We choose to eat at the bar rather than wait. Booths looked... More

This restaurant takes the german theme to the extreme, from the decore to the food and music. Even the employees are all dressed up which made it a really fun experience. The food was really good and our server was great taking the time to explain what things were and helping us choose the perfect meals for my family. It... More

Our family stopped here for dinner last night. Great atmosphere and attention to detail. We've spent time in Germany and Switzerland and this place was a little slice of Alpine future. The live accordion music was the finishing touch. The food was decent for German food in the US... Mustard and beer were excellent.

We were going to go to another restaurant but after looking at the menu we decided that we wanted to have German food again. As we were leaving we found Andreas Keller and went down the stairs to see what they had to offer. There was live music and a place had opened up for us to be seated. We... More
