Bookshop and coffee!

Good coffee and they have a great selection of used books. Too tempting to buy lots. Great that they are a job training site also. Have a good cup of coffee and support the community.

To the reviewer complaining about too many kids- this is a non-profit that does worker training for youth!! Geez! It is actually quite mellow at this coffehouse, with used books to peruse, good coffee, ice cream, and a few unique menu items. Fabulous soups that are made in house, with vegan and gluten free food options. Great place to relax,... More

This cafe is a non-profit coffeehouse and bookstore with a cozy atmosphere and great finds! As a non-profit, they train young people to work at a cafe and make espresso. The menu is eclectic, with fabulous soups- often vegan, veggie or meat gyros, egg sandwiches, and a variety of pastries (some gluten free!). They make great quality espressos/lattes as well,... But truly folks, we wanted a place that wasn't quite so hip and trendy. Not being tattooed seems like a drawback in some coffee houses these days ...

Like Coffee? Like Relaxing Outside? Like a quaint seaside town? Then this is your place. The service was great and the coffee and specialty coffee drinks were excellent. The store has a wide selection of top quality used books as well as a selection of books to read while you are enjoying your coffee. While on Whidbey, you must stop... More

When in Langley make sure you grab a coffee (and icecream!) at this place mainly maintained by volunteers - it's worth it! You can also dig into the used book selection offered at very reasonably prices...buy one, sip your coffee (or tea) and sit in the outside garden to read. Don't miss the tiny "nature protection area" located on the... More

The SWC is a casual, clean, comfortable spot to have a great cup of coffee and a simple nosh. The menu is kept simple so that youth can learn excellence while gaining experience. The used bookstore and coffeehouse offer a place for teens to learn customer service and retail management. What a gift from the community to support families and... More

I do like this place. The interior is clean and inviting. The books are well priced. The coffee service is complete and is mostly done right. I have only had one menu item, the breakfast bacon wrap, and it was delicious. The baked goods - meh. More effort needs to made in this department. This is a training program for... More

Wonderful, warm atmosphere in the heart of Langley. Hang out, read books, drink coffee and have a snack. Great place for young people and taking in a little sun on their beautifully planted terrace
