First impressions always set the tone for me and this one wasn't good. We asked for a table for six on the waterfront deck and it appeared the hostess didn't think there was one available. After another employee intervened we were finally led to a table on the deck. All of this managed without a smile or explanation from the... More

We had a wine and appetizer get together and the appetizers were awesome, then we had dinner and I would highly recommend the seared scallops!

We decided to go to Nell's after a recommendation from some locals. We were going to go to one of the higher rated restaurants but we were glad we didn't. We sat out side on the deck which was nice but cool. For an appetizer we had the fresh oysters which were wonderful. My wife had the calm with pasta... More

First, let me say the food is Excellent, wonderful wine selection, and all personnel (excluding the Bartenders) are friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Three of us went after work in July and had an enjoyable evening. After dinner, 9pm, we went into the lounge for a nightcap. HORRIBLE service, we waited over 20 minutes for someone (1 bartender, 2 waitress')... More

We were walking to another restaurant in La Conner when we walked by Nell Thorn. It looked very cute and was right on the water. We looked at the menu and decided it was the place to eat. We weren't interested in a full meal deal so, we ate in the bar. It was very homey and comfortable with warm... More

My husband and I purposely visited La Conner just to go to this restaurant - one of our favorites in the Pacific Northwest. We were first a bit disappointed to discover that they had moved to fancy new digs channel-side - we loved their former location attached to the La Conner Country Inn, as we had enjoyed three wonderful dinners... Had dinner here twice over the long weekend. Food and service was excellent. The local/organic ingredients are a real plus. One of our favourite restaurants.

But I don't see what all the buzz is about. Disappointing food to say the least. Tiny seating in tiny rooms for tiny people but where's the great chow?

Even though I miss the ambience of the old restaurant – The new Nell's is still a happening place – The polenta cakes are amazing as is the free range chicken wings with the Gorgonzola dressing – had a decent beer and wine selection to this and youve got a great start for a nice evening out – The main... We were not disappointed with any of our meals that 3 of us ordered. The lamb shank was excellent. Don't miss their dessert!
