Good food in a pretty location

Our first impression of the restaurant was not positive, as the hostess was either having a bad day or needs a different job. However the food was really good and the wine list was good as well. We also had a great table at the window as requested in our reservation. We had a beet salad and crab... read more

We last are here on a very crowded Saturday a few months ago. My only complaint was the noise level. I looked forward to returning for my birthday which fell during the week. The sound level was better but the food was disappointing. My hubby had crab spaghetti which I had previously ordered and I was surprised to see the... More

They moved to a waterside location and the view and new restaurant were very attractive . The good was good but the portions small and overpriced in my opinion.

Nell Thorn has the reputation of being La Conner's best. It's not. We've eaten more flavourful food that we did not have to wait more than an hour for. Very disappointing and not at all inexpensive. We weren't the only ones who had not received their food within an hour. People were complaining. We found their chicken and duck dishes... More

Decided to eat lunch at this restaurant last weekend while in town. This was a great choice. the wait staff is attentive and helpful. The menu was small but had variety of choices. We were well taken care and not rushed. May be alittle pricey for lunch but worth it.

We went to this restaurant due to a recommendation from our lunch waitress and we were not disappointed. We had the crab cakes due to the rave reviews. They were awesome. We also shared the clams. We read reviews that they were too spicy - not to our taste - we too thought they were awesome. We were starting to... More

We couldn't get in for dinner but we stopped by for wine and appetizers! They were busy but did a fine job accomodating us! We loved their shrimp and asparagus appetizer and their wive was lovely. Looking forward to dinner one day!

Nell Thorn would be well worth the drive to La Conner, even if the drive weren't so pleasant and La Conner such a pleasant place. The menu is creative and food well-prepared. We were especially impressed by the poached prawns and the crab cakes. The Dungenness crab cakes were presented with just enough filler to keep them together. They were... More

I will often ask the staff for clarification on descriptions written in the menu. There was a country style pate and I was told it was creamy. Well it was not creamy and the taste was not that great. I was told the "spice" ingredient in the seafood spaghetti was not hot yet it came with chili flakes. The other spaghetti... More

I had high hopes for this place when I read the previous reviews. My sister and I met for their Happy Hour. I ordered the Happy Hour burger because it was the only thing that sounded good and not too spicy. It came with red peppers in it. But other than that it was good. No fries or anything with... More
