Good location, good fish & chips, good Guinness

Dark and woody, this establishment offers authentic Irish pub experience, with friendly service and good fare. The creamy non-bitterness of the Guinness was a delight. This famous beer is also notorious (stateside) for being stored and/or pulled improperly, resulting in a flat, bitter mess that... read more

Recommended by a friend, we had dinner here. It was a typical pub you would find in Euope, combination bar and restaurant. I ordered a drink before dinner with a dash of bitters. I didn't realize there was more than one type - Angostura. They had 8 or 9 different bitters. I ordered fish (halibut) and chips, normally not a... More

George, cooking you the best fish and chips you've ever had is the best compliment we can get, so thanks to you and your wife for stopping in and letting us give you a taste of Europe. We're always happy to throw a little insight on a meal, too -- in this case the variety of bitters. Anyway, stop in... More

Roger, you know your Guinness, so thanks for imparting a good deal of love and appreciation for the old blonde in the black dress. We like her too -- a little too much, sometimes, but we never let it get in our way of emulating our Irish forbears and all their storing and pulling wisdom. Make sure you stop back... More

Came here with family on Wednesday night for dinner and trivia. A fun place pub style with a varied mostly American with some Irish flavor mixed in. Delicious no mater what we had and the staff could not do enough for us. Large bar with all sorts of spirits wines, national and local beers on tap.. The trivia was a blast... More

Went to listen to the band that was playing, but wound up having a very nice dinner also. Only complaint, bread not included with meal.

Having spent three weeks in Kirkland with many restaurants from which to choose, the Rover was favorite. It had all the trimmings of any Irish pub in the US and added a terrific menu and a large selection of beers on tap including Smithwick's and Harp. A most relaxing atmosphere and a relatively large menu allowed a diner to choose... More

The food here is very good. I had had the open face steak sandwich with fries. The prices are average, but a good value for the quantity and quality of food you get. There is a nice partial view of Lake Washington in the back room and a large closed off dining room for special occasions. I don't drink beer,... More

This is one of the few places in Kirkland you can go to without getting all dressed up and just be comfortable. The lamb burger is definitely my favorite on the menu. I did try the alaskan sockeye sandwich and it was just a little too bland for my taste. Could not really taste the curry powder or the mint... More

We were in Redmond and needed a place to watch the World Cup. Wilde Rover was recommended by some locals as they knew they had a big screen TV (and knew that we were looking for a European pub vibe). Perhaps it was a bad night, but service was slow (except in getting me my pint of Guinness, which was extraordinarily fast, which is kind of unusual, but I don't mind that part), and it took about 40 minutes to get food. For part of the time, there was a trivia DJ doing a trivia thing. The trivia thing was... More

Thanks for coming out and giving us a shot! Sounds like you had some great food, but I'm disappointed that you didn't think the service lived up to the rest of your meal. It can get pretty hectic in here on trivia nights, so I'd love for you all to come back on another night when it's a little more... More
