Café Juanita, owned by chef Holly Smith, has been a reliable fine dining establishment for a number of years. Fine dining is still somewhat a rarity on the Eastside but Café Juanita fills the void beautifully. Well executed, creative dishes and superb service. A class act all the way around.

This is our "go to" special occasion spot. It never disappoints. They are recently refreshed after a remodel. The space did not lose any of its charm and the culinary delights out of the kitchen are still delicious. Service staff is knowledgeable and just chatty enough, which is an art! We did have some wacky music piped in on our... More

This was my first visit since Cafe Juanita underwent a substantial but understated renovation. I'm happy to report that the food continues to exceed expectations, and the staff (especially the sommelier) are fantastic. This is a great place for celebrations, taking a special client, or just your spouse for a special meal. I've been only twice, but both were one... More

Our dinner at Café Juanita was an example of how a very good meal could easily be ruined by forces beyond anyone's control. The restaurant is quite a drive from downtown Seattle in driving rain. By the time we arrived we were hungry and cold. It is a cosy place but we ere struck by how noisy it was upon... More

I have been here twice. They are the best meals I've had in Seattle, I remember them and my mouth starts to water. The home made breadsticks and lavosh are delicate and flavorful, so don't come here and pass on the bread basket! Great Washington wine selection. The squid ink risotto lingers in my memory like love itself. Book well... More

I have been going to Cafe Juanita for 25 years, under two ownerships. In my opinion it has been and continues to be the best restaurant on the East Side, and one of the 5 top restaurants in the greater Seattle area. Historically, the restaurant physical plant did not do complete justice to the sophistication of the food, wine list,... More

I dined here because a friend was visiting and staying in a nearby hotel. What a delight! Meals were delicious- fresh, hot, flavorful. I had black cod and my companion had gnocchi . I had no trouble getting a (tasty) gluten-free meal. They even served a hot, gluten-free roll. We both ate *everything* on our plates! Service was swift and... More

I came here after watching a demonstration by Chef Holly Smith and Pastaiola Susan Raunig at the Whidbey Island Bread and Whole Grain Workshop and wanted to try their venue. I arrived unprepared for how elegant the venue was and was woefully under dressed, which they kindly ignored. My server was attentive, and yet was unobtrusive. He may have been... More
