I read some reviews on this place, so had high expectations. When we walked in, on a Tues eve, it was bustling, so, again, I had high expectations. the sushi was delicious-extrememy fresh, but a tad stingy on the fish. I had teriyaki chicken ala carte-which was tasty...pretty typical. My friends ordered a noodle bowl which was disappointing-no vegetables-basically some... More

Went here one cold, dark Winter night and sat at the bar. The owner prepared my sashimi. He was great - offered suggestions - tried fish I'd never had before. All very tasty. The owner is a master of his craft without doubt.

The sushi experience was mostly positive. Sushi and sashimi lunch specials were very affordable and decent quality. Octopus was not good, but I'm guessing there is not a lot of it ordered. Service was very friendly and efficient. Tea selection was good. Overall, good value for the family, and I'd stick to more common sushi and rolls.

We stopped in here for a quick dinner and were not disappointed. Huge variety of rolls, including ones apparently invented by customers. Peach Blossom roll was pretty and very good, as was Salmon Poki. We'll definitely be back to continue sampling Izumi's fresh, artfully presented dishes.

This place reminds me of being in Japan, the chef gave us the chef's special, a I don't know type of meal, he will pick what he wants and serve it. Very adventurous, it even came with a Japanese history class. Love this place.

In terms of quality of sushi, this is hands down the best place on the Eastside. I almost prefer it to Shiro's, which is generally regarded as the best sushi place in Seattle, though of course both have their merits. And what a surprise, since Izumi is located in a dingy strip mall between Evergreen hospital and a thoroughly unattractive... More

I had a chirami and udon combo for dinner. The raw fish is very fresh and high quality. Udon noodle is very well cooked. I think the place is quite authentic, and it is very good value.

You cannot find a better more authentic sushi restaurant on the EastSide. The place is frequent by world travelers and sports stars. We had the the Udon with seafood and it was delicious

This japanese restaurant is more authentic vs. typical "sushi-sashimi-miso soup" places. Extensive menu of japanese dishes with good diversity: you can have good tasty japanese dinner without any sushi. Good prompt service. Prices are reasonable.

It is close to work and I even invited friends over to show the authenticity of the place and dishes. The chefs are originally from Japan as well as the service. They all are VERY VERY nice. We even got a history lesson from the chef about Japan. Try the chef's special of the day, you won't know what it... More
