Must experience

Food piled up around me before I could finish each course. Salmon was perfect, as was the environment.

Sushi is one of our favorite foods. This is a nice place with qualify fish and decent size pieces, but nothing to write home about. We were not terribly creative and for two sashimi dinners. Presentation was very nice, served on a boat and each dinner came with miso soup and a small salad. They did not serve ginger with... More

The restaurant recently celebrated its 30th anniversary; that alone is testament to how great this place is. Restaurant is busy at lunch and I'd suggest going about 11:30-11:45 am when they open or shortly after 1:00, as otherwise there will be a wait. But remember they stop admitting folks for lunch at 1:30. Owner is from Japan, via Israel, and... More

If you are a sushi whimp like me, I prefer rolls and I love the rolls with tempera veggies and shrimp, this is not the best place for you. However if you are a hard core sushi person this is definitely a place to go! Very fresh and very raw!

Excellent food, but it does take a while to get it. Usually very busy but the service is good. Sitting at the sushi bar may be quicker.

Food is plated and served traditionally. I am fussy about how sashimi is plated, and served. They must have the shiso, daikon-cut by hand, and seaweed, and here it is served the way I enjoy it. Sashimi was fresh and generous.

I found this place while on business and staying at the hotel across the street. I went in by myself and sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef was very warm and welcoming and the sushi was even better. Only issue was I ordered too much! Each piece was 2x what I expected but fish was incredible. I was... More

My family has eaten here many times since they opened 30 years ago. Izumi is by far our favorite authentic Japanese restaurant! The food is delicious, and is presented beautifully. The staff is wonderful; two of the ladies have been working there since they first opened, and still wear the lovely traditional kimonos. It's a long drive from where we... More

Our favorite sushi place. Small, friendly and full at mealtimes. I love the teriyaki black cod which as a dinner comes with miso soup and sunomono and minimal salad with ginger or onion dressing, There are so many options: soups, noodles, tempura, rolls and wooden boatloads of sushi
