Casual dinner on a date.

Friends recommended the Ale house for a nice casual dinner before going to the Point Casino. It was 5pm on a Saturday night and it was very crowded. The host said it is always like this on the weekends and reservations are recommended. We sat in the bar area, there was no other choice it was okay... read more

We stopped here for lunch after departing the ferry from Edmonds. It looked inviting so we thought we'd give it a try. We were offered seats in the bar area not knowing there were other seats in a dinning area and outside on the deck. The drink service was timely and we placed our food orders. The food was a... We take the ferry over to Kingston for our Chowder every time we come to Seattle. It's always a nice ride over and we always eat at Main Street Ale House. The staff here has always been very friendly and helpful. Great job again guy's.

Some friends suggested we go and try their clam chowder so off we went. Wasn't the greatest - too much flour and meal we have was quite average - my wife had a crab melt and ate about half of it then sent the balance it back to the kitchen as it was full of bread crumbs and almost no... More

We took a nice ride on the ferry over to Kingston for lunch and wound up at the Main Street Ale House. What a great find! They have an outdoor deck in the back with a nice water view. The food selection was vast and everything we had was good. Nice beer selection on tap. The staff is really friendly... More

Stopped by for lunch while waiting for the ferry. Very good fresh fish and chips. Close to the pier and the view of the bay was great. Wait staff very good and helpful.

This restaurant has been a great dining destination when you are a walk-on ferry passenger from Edmonds to Kingston. The food remains good and the service was friendly, but it was incompetent. When our beverages arrived, they were the wrong order. I was then presented with the wrong salad and the accompanying chowder did not arrive. My dining companion's order... More

Always friendly and attentive wait staff, great food selections reasonably priced. Call for reservations on weekend evenings as there are few other options in Kingston if the Ale House is full. My wife loves the seafood platter, I am found of the big ribeye steak.

As others have said, this place used to be a lot better. When the server came over, the first thing she told us was that we'd have to wait at least a half hour for our food. She didn't want us to be surprised by the wait. Perhaps she had heard complaints before? It didn't make us very happy that... More
