Great casual indoor or deck dining in downtown Kingston, perfect destination for walk on passengers from Edmonds.

Always friendly and attentive wait staff, great food selections reasonably priced. Call for reservations on weekend evenings as there are few other options in Kingston if the Ale House is full. My wife loves the seafood platter, I am found of the big ribeye steak.

As others have said, this place used to be a lot better. When the server came over, the first thing she told us was that we'd have to wait at least a half hour for our food. She didn't want us to be surprised by the wait. Perhaps she had heard complaints before? It didn't make us very happy that... More

we showed up just short of 1pm on a Saturday afternoon and were happily surprised to find a table outside. We sat down and a very helpful young man moved an umbrella to our table so we didn't get seared by the sun. Great start to what we hoped would be a pleasant meal. We sat patiently for about 20... This place is a poster child for a restaurant rescue reality show. Every level was not working. Here is but a partial list: lipstick on a wine glass, large hole in the booth seat, burnt bread with the clams, vegitible with main course was an overcooked ear of corn, overpriced, poor service. Never again will we set foot in that... More

While visiting my best friend in Kingston, it is a "given" we eat at the Ale House...steamed clams are the best ever (from Alaska so, I think I know what I am talking about) - out ranks any had in the Seattle area! Truly worth a visit as they do it right on all menu items.

We had a day out by boat from Edmonds to Kingston. Had lunch at the Mainstreet Alehouse. Remembered the worlds best clam chowder yet not to be labeled as such. What a great selection of draft beers! My brother got an impromptu tasting of beers since they were out of his favorite. (Gratis by the way). Great menu with good... More

Whether you're a local just looking for a place to eat or waiting for the next ferry, Main Street Ale House is a pleasant stop for lunch. The entrance leads immediately to a cozy bar, continue walking to the back of the house where the dining room is. It is not a large restaurant and won't support large groups. Rather,... More

This used to be a place to come for our Friday night date night. Last night my wife came in expecting the usual Friday night Prime Rib special. The first thing our server told us (at 6 PM) was there is no Prime Rib left. They were not busy. How could the Friday special be gone when we were there... More

Wow great food great service. Must stop. Great beer selection. Kid friendly. I would rec5 this to all travelers is the area. Beer and brat dinner, and clam chowder is delicious.

Casual dining experience. Had a (local) Dungeness crab melt, which was delicious, though portion was rather small. My friends had the fish and chips, which was a healthy portion of three cod filets. Also, the cole slaw was excellent! Didn't try the ale though - next time.
