Great lunch spot

Came here on my visit to Washington with my Aunt. I had a chicken salad sandwich with iced tea, the food was good. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. My Aunt had the soup and salad and she said everything was good as well. We shared a apple crisp and it was yummy....big order.

This is a landmark Issaquah restaurant featuring homemade everything. Its primarily a soup and sandwich shop. They don't take debit cards so make sure to bring cash. Its located in Gilman Village and offers a nice stroll though cool shops after your lunch.

My mom always said if I can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. I'll keep this short. Not good. Too busy to even think about any kind of customer service. Food less than OK. End of review.

Everything is homemade (bread, soup, sandwiches, desserts.) My favorite is chicken or tuna salad sandwich. They are known for their desserts which change daily.

We've been wanting to try this place for several months now. Unfortunately, their hours and ours don't seem to mesh well. We finally got there this past weekend. We were quite excited to try it out. After looking at the menu outside and getting an idea of what we might want, we went inside looking to find out what the... More

We've been coming to this restaurant since the mid 1970's. They've continued to make the same great soups, salads, sandwiches & desserts. Always consistent. When you have a good product, stick with it.

I have been to this restaurant several times and I have had a marvelous meal every time. They make their bread and desserts in house. The turkey sandwich has real turkey that they cook in the kitchen--not deli meat. The best part about dining here is their desserts! I've tried all the bread puddings they've made and I have LOVED... We have enjoyed The Boarding House for lunch since 1974. The signature salad and house dressing has not changed over all those years and continues to be my favorite thing to order. The crisp lettuce and marinated bean salad is served with bites of chopped turkey, ham, or half and half with salad dressing on the side and a slice... More

Very delicious, the potato soup is wonderful. Keep in mind the following; they are not open for many hours each day, there is always a line, and they only take cash or check. Still worth the experience for a piece of Issaquah tradition.

The Boarding House, in Gilman Village in Issaquah, is at the top of my list for a great lunch. Everything is homemade with delicious soups, excellent sandwiches and generous salads. The homemade desserts are the best. Great value for the money and the setting in an old house, with mismatched antique tables and chairs, makes one feel as if they... More
