Fresh, locally sourced food

This chef-run restaurant was an unexpected find in the small town of Goldendale, WA. I had fresh pea soup, bibb lettuce salad, and crispy chicken over kale. Each dish was nicely seasoned. A lovely assortment of photographs graced the walls, all for sale. It bills itself as a gallery and restaurant.

Great use of local fresh ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, no precooked food. The down side is a-la carte, making the meal more expensive.

The food is always fresh, locally sourced, and the service is prompt and friendly. Having moved to Goldendale from Portland, Oregon I was happy to find a restaurant that served food that is as good as you can find anywhere. Situated in a converted house the setting is intimate and the walls covered with rotating local art works. The chef/owner... More

My sister remembered having been to a great restaurant in Goldendale and with the help of the internet we found it again. It was hard to decide because everything on the menu was tempting, I ended up choosing several appetizers and a cup of soup and I was delighted with my choices. The portions were so generous that I took... More

Food is always good. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Always get good service. Try the ribs if you get there on a night they do them. Had a friend who said it was too expensive but I thought it was fairly priced.

Went for a motorcycle ride and intentionally headed to the Glass Onion because of trip advisor reviews. Exceeded the reviews! The pastrami sandwich was excellent, the bread was fresh and amazing. The Sicilian rice cakes were fabulous. We shared the Sicilian doughnuts for desert. They were so yummy I would have binge eaten 100! The presentations were beautiful and the... More

This place is a find! We came upon it at the end of a two-week road trip during which we had some really good meals. The Glass Onion, in a highly unlikely spot, beat them all. We were camping at Maryhill State Park on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge on our way home to Boise and, frankly, weren't... More

So here we are tent camping in eastern Washington looking for a real meal. Trip Advisor reviewers suggest the Glass Onion in Goldendale, Washington. Driving into town we were skeptical. The restaurant is situated in an old house with limited parking. Charming. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous despite our primitive appearance. The food was extraordinary! If you are... A surprise find. The food was outstanding, one of the best meals I have had. Quite good wine list. Glad we stumbled upon this gem.

Like many previous reviewers, we were delightfully surprised to find a restaurant like this in small-town Goldendale, WA. We were traveling through after a visit to Central Oregon. We decided to stay overnight and visit the Maryhill Museum which is nearby. We were so glad we did! The Glass Onion is a foodie heaven! Local, creative food served in a... More
