My wife ,friend and I had a nice dinner here. Very serene and quiet....almost fell asleep! The potstickers were great. My friend enjoyed the sushi.

The service and server were great. Very friendly and helpful. Sushi was very fresh. The presentation was perfect. The hot sake was the right temperature. I very much enjoyed eating here and will be back again.

Greatest place in Puget Sound for Japanese meals in the 80s and still the best with different owners. Hard to believe, but this continues to be a real gem in Federal Way. The fish is always fresh and the bento sets never disappoint.

My family and I have been regulars of Koharu for years now and they have remained consistently great. The outside is forgettable, which is unfortunate because once you enter you are transported to Japan, gaily greeted in Japanese when you open the door, tranquil Japanese decorations, lovely and attentive wait staff dressed in traditional kimonos. Warm towel for your hands... More

But I guess that's my fault for trusting Yelp (registered trademark) instead of TripAdvisor! Service was tortuous, thanks to only one very nice but overworked hostess/cashier/waitress for the entire place. The sushi was very good. The rest was fair. Had the steak teriyaki lunch special. It was cold when it got to the table. The soup/salad were forgettable. Maybe if... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find a quiet Japanese atmosphere inside this strip mall restaurant. From the beginning with hot towels to cleanse your hands to the end with the refreshing jello, this was an authentic experience. The dinner portions were large. The sushi was delicious. We enjoyed the seaweed salad, edamame, seafood soup and broiled fish. The wait staff... More

We were looking for somewhere new to try for lunch. The food here is very good and the service was wonderful. The decor inside was a nice surprise. It is very peaceful and relaxing. I would say the prices are average for sushi.

Never knew it was there. And now that I do. I will be back. I say 'I' but I mean we. My wife and daughter loved it also. Food was amazing. Dragon roll, California roll, seafood fry and oyster fry were awesome. Seems a tad expensive but it really is that good. Atmosphere is fresh also. Only negative would be... More

The food was delicious. We could have been eating in Toyko. My husband had yakisoba noodles with meat and veggies - it was enough for four people! I had Tempura. It was crispy and beautifully presented. The miso soup was great. I'd read about the "jello" and was pleased to taste the coffee gelatin laced with a milky topping. We... More

I was very interested in visiting a "Japanese" buffet restaurant simply because it seemed to promise something different from the usual Chinese or Asian restaurant fare that is so common in the Northwest. As it turned out the fare was very similar. Some niceties were the fish actually looked like fish, not hidden under a glob of deep fat fried... More
