A pleasant surprise in Ellensburg

Very happy I found this place in Ellensburg. The restaurant is located in a repurposed church, the vibe is quirky and hip. Good service. Solid menu and well executed traditional American fare. My new goto restaurant for Ellensburg.

I reviewed the Yellow Church cafe a few years ago and this is an update. The restaurant has new owners with a slightly different menu. The food is still excellent. They used to be closed for an hour or two in the afternoon (only on weekends?) but now are open all day. Other than that it's the same great place!

Amazing food but also the best steel head and salmon in town if you didnt already know. Portions are equivalent to the prive. & the price its a steal when comparing any other Ellensburg restaurant. Highly recommended only kock is the service is spotty the servers see there more likely tipping tables and treat them accordingly. Cant. Other than that... More

Neat, funky converted church, as the name would imply. We sat upstairs & had a cozy spot, overlooking the tables & kitchen below. Lots of variety on he breakfast menu. We each chose very different dishes & both cleaned our plates. Always a good sign :) Helpful & friendly waitress, fairly quick service, tasty food, fun/casual atmosphere. Music was loud,... More

I don't get it. Ok food served on trendy planks with poor service and high prices? We regretted going to the church and not the Tav. Don't make our mistake.

Looking for a light meal with quality ingredients so I ordered a small Caesar and a side of "chef's vegetables". Salad was generously sized and very good but the lightly cooked vegies were in a class by themselves. Seriously the best vegies I have been served in a restaurant in my life-and I'm in my sixties. It is obvious they... More

Stopped in for lunch on Easter Sunday. My daughter loved her mac n cheese and my vegetarian minestrone was full of veggies, garbanzo & orzo- delicious/nutritious! Also among very best broccoli and cheddar quiche I have ever had. Service by Destiny - friendly & excellent. Decor, incredibly charming - so much to admire. Highly recommended!

I stopped at this restaurant last summer with some buddies as we were traveling across the state on I-90. While it is located in town and not directly next to I-90 I wondered why they wanted to go "that far out of the way". . . I figured it out as soon as we entered the "church". . wow what... More

We stopped by the Yellow Church Cafe more or less by accident. I checked the place out on TA before hand and wanted to stop there on our trip back from Walla Walla. However, I didn't check the location, we cruised by the fast food chains and almost stopped before we saw the Yellow Church. We walked in and saw... More
