Best Restaurant in a 100 Mile Radius

We were here again last night for Valentines Day. This isn't a casual dining establishment, though nobody cares what you wear in Ellensburg. One of the few times of the year when reservations are necessary. We arrived to friendly greetings and were seated at what I think of as the best booth in the... read more

Stopped in with a friend on a weekend day while driving through Ellensburg. Place was empty with only one staff member on duty. The sever/greeter seated and greeted us quickly and was pleasant. She informed us of the happy hour specials and that we couldn't order off the dinner menu, only the appetizer menu because, well I don't know why... More

Usually damn near empty when I've been there, but decent food... the waiter was a bit strange... Nice enough atmosphere... One of these days I'll give it another whirl, Earl. P.S. Pricy though!!!

Our friend had eaten here in the past and enjoyed it so we decided to give Valley Cafe a try. We visited on a Friday evening and practically had the place to ourselves. The owner waited on us and was very friendly. The seared Ahi tuna served with coconut rice was delicious and cooked perfectly rare. This was our first... More

Wow Sunday evening and a lot of places were closed but we lucked out and found this gem. We ordered a variety of different foods and found them all to be so much better than expected. The loaded potato soup and tomato basil bisque were both very good and the service was great to boot.

We've been stopping at the Valley for years and have never been disappointed. The service is neighborhood friendly and yet somehow sophisticated. The food though is what brings us back. I had a calamari appetizer. It was unbreaded and so tender it melted in my mouth, yet had a serious red sauce that did our red wine proud. And speaking... More

I've eaten at Valley Cafe a couple of dozen times. Nearly everything is very good. The Highlights: 1.) They have recently begun a happy hour from 4-6 with small plates, a great way to try a lot of their food and sample the quality level without spending much. 2.) The environment. Even if art deco isn't your thing (I'm pretty... More

I notice that the recent reviews are the most positive, so let me add mine. We were returning from a weekend of wine tasting and literally drove around Ellensburg looking for a dinner place. The variety of the menu drew us in, the beautifully preserved Art Deco decor charmed us, and everyone was very pleased with their choices: the BLTA... More

The chicken breast meal was so bland, dry, and tough, plus gave every indication that it was heated in a microwave, that I can hardly believe it was even served to us. The setting is wonderful and service a bit spotty, but the meal was a big disappointment. It was a boring experience from start to finish and I can't... More

We were taken by the historic furnishings and feel of the restaurant; very charming. We had to wait for longer than normal to be seated, though the place was empty. The server was distracted by a conversation with a friend instead of preparing a table. We finally walked to a table and from then on the service was fine. The... More
