We were so disappointed and didn't want to be. Based on Frommer's (1 star) highly recommended review our divided group (from Everett and Richland) each drove 2 hours to eat (for a birthday dinner) at the Valley Cafe. We were attracted to the Valley Cafe as we were driving by and the menu looked very promising. But it proved disappointing. I agree with another reviewer. This resturant is just alright at best. We have lived here for 2 years now and tried every resturant. I've been to nearly every restaurant in Ellensburg, and this is by far my favorite. It has become my natural selection for celebrations and intimate dinners. The Valley Cafe has delicious, quality food, a varied menu, super wine selection, and inspiring atmosphere. The Valley Cafe is a refuge for any cross-state traveler! Ellensburg has a lot to offer but the Valley Cafe is something more - - it is an icon.
