Many visits through June of 2015

I was going to write a glowing review of the Valley Café but I now see that it is under new ownership. For the last ten years we have planned our trips from the "west side" to Spokane so we arrive in Ellensburg at the Valley Café for lunch. Our last visit was in June and I can say the... read more

This place used to be really great. They have recently mixed up their menu and it if a huge flop. Watch out for the smokey "tomato" soup, it's like eating a fire.

A decade ago this was a great place. Then the place got into trouble with the health department and was closed for a bit until that got straightened out. This past summer the business was sold and new ownership sounded promising...locally sourced foods etc. Tried this out for lunch on a cold day in December. Temp about 16 degrees outside... More

Steep prices. Service was a bit slow. Tomato bisque soup was warm not hot. The waitress did not come greet us for several minutes while we sat. Waters were not filled promptly and we had ask for bread several times. I would probably stick to pasta company next time.

As of August 2015 or so, the Valley Cafe is under new ownership. Experienced restaurateurs have taken it over and the menu is fresh, local and quite divine. I had the butternut squash lasagna with artichokes and cashews and other amazing things and wanted to go back the next day to have it again. The salads are so big you... More

Valley Cafe is an established restaurant that changed owners and boy has it made a difference. There is an excitement that has been missing that Marion and Alfonso have brought back. We had fresh home made pasta with shrimp to die for and a tomato bisque as good as any we have ever eaten. Now there is a full bar... More

I took my mother and brother out for lunch today. We went into the restaurant around 12:30; we were the only customers. The waitress handed us "their new menu" with minimal salads and sandwiches(3-4each) and 4 main courses. Nothing was appealing to us. I am not going to pay 16.99 for a lunch main course that doesn't appeal to me.... More

What a pleasant Authentic Retro Setting, truly Authentic, in every way. The Food, Moderately Priced and oh so worth it. Mmmmm. Tucked away in a quaint little Cowboy College 🏫 Town. Where the Cultures actually Compliment one another. I know I'll return, great place, with excellent staff 😋

This restaurant is a great place if you are into great food and very friendly service in a historical and clean establishment. It is also the half way point if you are on I-90 heading to either Spokane from Seattle or vice versa. It is in the Yakima wine country and the Valley Cafe features some pretty good local wines.... Excellent lunch in a historic setting. Enjoyed the Penne primavera -- many fresh vegetables with perfectly cooked penne. Good wine list and local brews. Have been here many times over some years -- quality has been maintained.
