Wally's is what one looks for in a great neighborhood restaurant. Their chowders are outstanding, and it is hard to choose between the New England and the Manhattan versions. The fish and chips arrived piping hot from the kitchen and clearly the oil was hot enough, as they were not greasy. It is unusual to see a place like Wally's... More

yummy, yummy yummy! good good food! Halibut and chips is to die for. Very busy and crowded is the only drawback. Great clam chowder too. Overall, it's nothing fancy, just good food!

Probably should have given this place a two star rating but the ling cod was very good. Seating was very basic and we had a very short distance between the chairs of other diners. I had fish and chips and the fries were soaked with oil... Not good. It was a busy place but I felt like the restaurant forgot... More

This is a great place for seafood, chowder. Family friendly. We enjoyed the obvious locals who eat there. It reminds me of some of the seafood places in Florida.

This was my first time to the Pacific Northwest and I wanted to experience as much seafood as I could. This was my first stop after arriving and it did not disappoint. We were greeted upon arriving and sat immediately. The place was packed for lunch but the service was outstanding. After we were seated the manager came right over... More

I love this place and recommend it all the time for friends. The wait can be ridiculous. It's worth it, but getting in ahead of time is best. They said no reservations could be taken, but when we used to work at bank they did so all the time. So I guess it's select seeating to those they want. Odd,... More

I have been here a few times with friends and always loved the fish & chips. I went here with my daughter for lunch she did the all you can eat cod fish & chips with the clam chowder what a great deal if you can eat a lot. I'm not a big fan of the chowder here so I... More

That being said, everyone has their own idea of good chowder but this is the best I've ever had and I've tried other world famous chowder houses across the country. Everytime we head to Seattle from the SF Bay area, we stop to eat chowder and cod or shrimp and take home chowder base too! The cod or shrimp are... More

We would have never found the Des Moines area except for a fellow traveler telling us that he liked a more upscale restaurant in the area. A google search showed us this place, and the reviews were good, so we thought we would give it a try. Your first impression is of a local hole in the wall, but the... More

Last two nights of our vacation and staying near the air port, scanned the local restaurants and found a local winner! Great fresh food, pleasant and helpful wait staff, and really nice local patrons. We had to wait about thirty min., but well worth the wait! Fresh halibut was really special, and we rarely have desert, but a few of... More
