I have been coming to this restaurant since my childhood. The service has always been good and friendly. I've since moved from Cle Elum but make a point to come eat here whenever I'm over to visit family. It's my go-to place to eat. Consistently good and the owners take pride in their establishment. They get to know their customers... More

We moved to Cle Elum from San Diego and have been looking for a place that has Mexican food more like in San Diego, but didn't find anywhere close until we found El Caporal! We especially love their salsa and buy itnto go anytime I'm cooking a Mexican dish at home. We usually order to go, but the first time... More

Went on a Friday night and had very fast service. The prawns salad was to die for. Completely satisfied all around. Adverage priced.

We had a good, middle of the road, dinner here. I had beef and my wife had chicken. Tasty. Good margaritas. The service was consistently excellent, not overbearing but they were there whenever we needed something.

Had the chicken carnitas, was well prepared and tasty. Portions were plenty large. Salsa is good, couldn't tell if the tortilla chips were home made, but I think not. Margh's were good, you could taste the ingredients. Prices reasonable for what you get.

Would agree with the other sub-par reviews. My take on "American/mexican" is that if the plates are huge it won't matter that it doesn't taste so great - I would lump them in this category.

A surprisingly good Mexican restaurant with fast and friendly service and a good Margarita. Food may not be up to the best California Mexican restaurants but quite good for north of the border.

One has to first comment on the margarita, of course. I had the regular one, and it was great. I had fajita and my wife has a taco salad. Service was fast and plates came out hot. Food was delicious and quantity was substantial.

We eat here any time we're driving across 90 - we time our stop so we can have lunch or dinner. Excellent every time, speedy service. Love the camarones con vegetales - yes - they have actual broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower, zucchini and peppers for those of us want more than just salsa for a vegetable. Great traditional dishes too.

I have stopped here a number of times in the past several years. It used to be decent food with excellent service. It has become lousy food with mediocre service. The cheese on my daughter's nachos tasted old/spoiled. My cheese enchiladas were swimming in what tasted like plain canned tomato sauce that had been watered down. The tomato taste overwhelmed...
