Breathtaking views, very good seafood

Had an early dinner. The view towards the ocean at sunset is truly breathtaking- makes it a worthwhile outing. Also a lot of the seafood is fresh, tastes as if they just plucked it out of the water outside. Service is upscale but not stiff. All we ate was mouthwatering. They have really good (and... read more

Always the best. Intimate and cosy in winter. West coast and beautifully relaxing scenery in summer. Highly recommend for fine dining.

We dropped in for lunch and had hoped for a light tasty meal. The view is really beautiful across the water. The restaurant cosy and the tables well decorated with a fresh rose and an attractive lighting feature. The service was good. The food was well presented, but lacked the flavour to match the presentation. I had crabcakes with vegtables... More

Did a weekend in Bellingham. Took a ride down Chuckanut Dr., saw the Oyster Bar and stopped in the late afternoon. Got a table at the window with fantastic view. It is a small place with two floors of seating and an outside deck for the summer weather. The menu was of coarse seafood oriented. Salads were excellent! Lobster bisque... More

We love this restaurant for special occasions & take our out-of-state friends here. The interior is very cozy & intimate. The limited menu changes regularly, the chef always has superb choices & the wine selection is the best in the area! The professional staff are all helpful & gracious. We've watched several proposals take place at nearby tables over the... More

If you have the time to take the drive from the Seattle area to this restaurant, take it. You'll find a location that is incredible, with some of the best views you will ever find in a restaurant. And the food is just marvelous. We visited the restaurant with some friends that live in Everett and spent a wonderful evening... More

I've dined at the Oyster Bar for a quarter of a century. The cuisine was always more stunning than the panorama views; except on my last visit. The menu looked gorgeous but not one dish had flavor or execution to match the description. I could have done better with seasoning and plating as a home cook. There's many new fine... More

We recently moved back to the West Coast and decided to re-live great memories from the 70's and 80's by driving down the famous winding coastal Chuckanut Drive and stopping for lunch at the Oyster Bar. The exterior structure is improved and quite attractive with it's coastal look. Inside very little has changed; incredible views of the sound with the... More

My wife treated me to a lunch at the Oyster Bar on Chuckanut today, to celebrate Veterans Day. It is generally a little more expensive of a place than we can patronize often, but for a special occasion it was fine, and the lunch menu is much more affordable than the dinner menu. Staff was pleasant, all the way from... More

Simply perfect, creative, diverse menu, local staples like King Salmon, Oysters, and local mushrooms. Wonderfully prepared, and the view is to die for. Famous for a reason. Must stop. Warning: expensive. But so worth it. Save up some money buy skipping a couple of pointless meals at *insert chain restaurant* and experience what real cuisine of the PNW is all... More
