Description: Founded in July of 2003 by Scott Mangold and Renee Bourgault, Breadfarm...
Founded in July of 2003 by Scott Mangold and Renee Bourgault, Breadfarm uses old fashioned techniques, every item we make is hand crafted, made from scratch. We pride ourselves on using the highest quality ingredients we can source to produce our baked goods. Supporting local business and sustainable commerce is important to us. Our bakery is located in the small village of Edison, Washington, just off of scenic Chuckanut Drive in beautiful Skagit Valley. We strive to create product offerings you can't find elsewhere. Our breads are naturally leavened using wild, natural yeasts. Our cookies and shelf stable pantry items are all made in small batches by staff with carefully tending hands. Using the finest quality, local, natural and often organic ingredients, our products are simple, flavorful and memorable. We are a passionate bunch of bakers, doing our part to change the world, one loaf at a time. Enjoy!

Amazing Bakery Worth the Drive!

Everything I tried in this bakery so far has been wonderful experience. I love to make grilled cheese sandwiches with the potato bread. The best ever! I tried the danishes and they were just incredible. I look forward to tasting more different kinds of their wonderful creation.

Though (thankfully) Breadfarm breads are available at various retail outlets, like the Food Coops in both counties, you have to visit the homey storefront bakery in Bow to experience--and indulge!--in the range of offerings in both breads and sweets. Some of our favorites: Samish Potato Bread (with chunks of real baked potato), the fig-anise rolls, the Tonasket rye, traditional coconut... More

Bow is just a two block long wide spot in the road but per capita likely has the most interesting restaurants and bars in the country. We are lucky to have Breadfarm in our local Hagens (at least prior to Hagen's bankruptcy) but it's special to go to the source. Lot's of fun stuff that you don't find in the... More

The Breadfarm has the very best bread by far in any place in northwest Washington. While the Breadfarm might be off the beaten path, it is well worth the trip. There are a wide variety of breads and sweet treats. The breads range from the very crusty to softer varieties. The sweets are great!

We were vacationing in the area and decided to try this bakery. The first day we bought their fig anise rolls and a loaf of potato bread. They said the fig rolls were popular. I didn't think they were that great. A little dry and hardly a fig in it. But the potato bread made some great sandwiches. They were... More

You May Leave, But if you Love Bread....I bet you'll be back for the delightful aromas and oh so delicious bread. The fig rolls are our favorite.

Over the past few years, we've bought bread and other assorted baked goods here at least four times, and have always been happy happy happy! We routinely make our baking purchases for camping at Bayview State Park here, and an evening of hamburgers is a must with their whole grain buns and organic ground beef and cheese from Samish Bay... The Bread Farm is an artisan bakery making all their breads from sourdough by hand. All varieties are crusty, chewy and thoroughly delicious to the last crumb. An added bonus is that you can watch the bakers kneading and shaping the dough in the open kitchen. Some reviewers find their products over-priced, but in my mind the costs are fair... More

Their blackberry danish is one of the best pastries I've ever had anywhere. (All of their stuff looked excellent. - we also tried the pain au chocolat, and a chocolate vanilla sandwich cookie. The Blackberry danish takes the cake. Sweet acidic berries against a custard that's not too sweet, and flaky pastry - sign me up. Buying just one is... More

A superb bakery in the middle of nowhere, although Bow/Edison has its autre cachet as an off the beaten track place to be. Many Bellingham restaurants source their bread from here. A top notch place.
