A gem! I love these little roadside places off the beaten track. Definitely worth stopping here for a bite. The food was delicious, the service friendly. It was the perfect place to eat after enjoying a drive on Chuckanut.

I moved out of state several years ago & missed the fellowship & good food at the Rhoddie; I was sorry to hear it changed owners--but now I'm happy again! On a visit to the area to see tulips, I made a point to have dinner mid-week here partly because I wanted to try it again and also because the... More

We were in the area because tulips were in season. Slept at the casino. Separate review. Read about the cafe and went after visiting a local cheese creamery. Mrs had a club sandwich and a brew. I tried the Senegalese Peanut soup. Neither of which was gourmet but tasty enough. Service was good. Sandwich came with potato chips or white... More

Getting lost on a road trip isn’t always a bad thing. We missed a turn somewhere in our attempt to find Chuckanut Drive. As we puzzled over our inadequate map, a passing cyclist stopped and gave us directions. He also recommended we stop at this café or the adjoining bakery. That was a stroke of luck, as we might otherwise... More

My husband and I were hungry about 4:30 PM on a Friday. We were the first ones in there for dinner. They had a lot of shellfish items on the menu, which we don't eat, but they had plenty of other stuff to appeal to us. The prices are not low, but I think the quality of the food is... More

I came with a group of 10, and people on my end of the table tried the pork chops, salmon, oysters, vegetarian risotto, and steak. All were superbly prepared with great ingredients. Consistent with other reviews, the prices are a little higher than what you might expect in a small town, but if you appreciate great food, you will be... More

My husband and I stopped at the Rhododendron for lunch on Valentine's Day. This was our first visit since Chef Jim Kowalski took over. We both had the oyster po'boy, and both thought it was great. Served on a perfect baguette, the oysters were very fresh and tasty. A good aioli finished the sandwich. Side salad was nice. Both the... More

My wife and I like to bicycle ride in the Skagit Valley - Edison area, and we've passed this place a number of times. It looks quaint and interesting so we usually agree we'll stop someday. A couple days ago we were driving in the area, were hungry and had the time so we decided to stop. We were not... More

I've been eating at the Rhododendron for years. I was somewhat hopeful when I heard who the new owners were, that it'd still be a great restaurant. Perhaps it is, but I won't find out. They've boosted the prices way up. The restaurant used to offer a variety of food, from fresh local ingredients - at a value, but I... More

This is a restaurant to watch. It has been taken over by the owners of the beloved Farm to Market Bakery in nearby Edison which are planning to re-open this week right next to the Rhododendron Cafe. The new owners are a young couple and the husband is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in NY. We had... More
