The Black Diamond Bakery, located in the downtown area, not only offers great food but a bird's eye view of Mt. Rainier. Yesterday, we joined friends for breakfast and left feeling very satisfied with our meal and the service. The baked goods are wonderful and it's hard to leave without pastry, bread or donuts.

The Black Diamond Bakery is in a pleasant country kind of setting, with a good view, plenty of parking and a comfortable family kind of decor. The co-setting of the bakery and the restaurant is definitely a plus to the dining experience. However, given these advantages, and given the relatively expensive breakfast menu, it's unfortunate that the waitress that served... More

They can't. Food is really good here. The BBQ Pork Sandwich is my favorite and my son's is the Country Fried Steak. They have lots of variety and the baked good items are tasty. My daughter's favorites are the Chocolate Mousse and Russian Tea Cakes.

Bring your appetite if you come here to eat breakfast. The portions are big and it is VERY good. Real country cooking. The atmosphere is that country cafe feel. If you have room after breakfast, definitely get one of their cinnamon rolls from the bakery. SOOOO GOOD! I have eaten here a few times and taken out of town guests... More

I had a very good breakfast and the view is nice. They have a large deck that would be pleasant on a sunny day. However, the blond waitress was so abrupt and abrasive that she spoiled what would have otherwise been a pleasant experience. She would occasionally call people Sweetie I guess she thought that would make her unpleasant personality... More

Hadn't been there in several years. Newer owners. One of the best breakfasts around. Price is a little higher than average, but larger meal makes up for it. Service was efficient. Beautiful mountain view. Will return and will also try dinner.

Great wait staff - large portions - usually everyone has a smile and nice comments- but a few months back a friend and I stopped in and the table had an ad on it for lamb shanks- my friend loves that meal but when the plate arrived they had served lamb chops? an entirely different meal - when we mentioned... Ever since the current ownership took over The Black Diamond Bakery the food and service have gone downhill. The breakfast menu is bland and lacks flavor. The service use to be outstanding but the last few times I've gone it has been terrible. So much so that I will never go back, and I live 10 minutes form the restaurant.

Where to begin? Before being seated we noticed sign all over tell customers to keep their children under control... Classy. Not so welcoming. We weren't offered a children's menu so my 11 year old ate half a 10$ breakfast. Overpriced and the bacon was overdone. Couldn't place our order despite asking twice as no one knew what section we were... More

Basic bakery and breakfast restaurant. It's somewhat quaint. Food is edible, but not great. It's definitely popular, I suspect tradition drives the clientele rather than excellent food.
