Tried this place three times: the month they opened, about 6 months later, and then about 3 years after that. The first time I was impressed with the efforts to make the place a "Seattle upscale" sort of restaurant experience, with fancy linens and a well dressed and attentive staff, but the food was blah. Literally bland. OK, maybe they... More

Visited on Saturday, just before noon. Only one other group in the restaurant at the time, three more tables came in while we were there. Server was friendly, but more friendly with the guys at the bar. She chatted with them while we waited over 30 minutes to get our food which was cold by the time she decided to... More

Fairhaven is a lovely area, but not many nice looking restaurants. So, I let friends drag me back here. It was once again, a miserable dining experience. Last time, I got a hair in my food, this time, it was something grainy like sand. The service is still painfully slow, the food served cold, .... The servers smile, but growl... More

Went here for a very late lunch so had the place pretty much to ourselves. Very attentive service. Wing appetizers were great, came out hot and and very meaty. Steak sandwich tasted good, but hard to eat. The disappointing part of the meal was the hummus plate. The hummus was bland and grainy, the pita chips were hard as rocks,... More

Ive been there twice and wont return. Overpriced and the food was not that good. I find it amazing that this place is still in business. Dont bother going here.

I had a lemon drop martini, the Argentine Sirloin Chimichurri, and a limoncello cheesecake. I sat at the bar. It was about 5pm on a thursday so there were only a couple of other tables. The bartender was quite attentive - he made my drink right away, was friendly, and willing to answer any question I had. When I asked... More

The food was good, service was good also. Prices were rather high for a casual dining establishment. I guess they think they are in New Orleans---hence the name. Maybe those prices would be suitable in the Big Easy, but not in Bellingham, WA.

We stopped on a Saturday evening and our first clue should have been that the restaurant was virtually empty! We sat outside, along the sidewalk, on a beautiful evening and both ordered fish entrees. Neither meal was above average although the prices were! Service was also only mediocre. Not a place I would rush back to visit.

The Big Fat Fish Co. should be an excellent restaurant. It is very attractive and the menus are inviting. Regretfully, the delivery is not so good. Food can be delicious or just mediocre. Portions can be too puny for the prices charged, with a lot of variation and inconsistency. The "new" ownership has not improved things; the menus are even... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we walked to town of Fairhaven - what a food lovers paradise!! Any whoooo, my husband, who judges EVERY restaurant by the quality of the fish and chips, declared this the BEST fish in both Vancouver, Whistler and Bellingham - and the boy EATS fish!! I, the carnivore, chose a hamburger that was equally... More
