Having visited the establishment many times, one comes to expect the lack of service repeatedly discussed in previous reviews. However, a new high, or should I say low, was attained on this most recent visit. A complete waste of time walking into Chat Noir unless one is into being ignored. Was provided with ample time to have an uninterrupted conversation...no... More

The place looks cute and cozy but it is not! First of all, find your own table. Next, wait for the snotty blond waitress to notice you. If you are lucky she will bring your waters. She gave us ours and left us for the next THIRTY minutes. We were early so she only had two small tables to tend... More

Three of us went here on Hallowe'en and we were treated to surly service with meals that took forever to come. The salad with ahi tuna was uninspired and overpriced, with the tuna almost tasteless. The crepes I sampled were odd, baked until crispy with bland fillings. And be warned--it is a climb up three flights of stairs to get... More

After almost 40 mins and no food we asked how long it would be. We told the crepe had to be made scratch some along soon. If we had be told we would have ordered a replacement. Only one waitress and she was run off her feet. Might try again. When food arrived it was ok.

We spend many date nights at the Black Cat. It is romantic and the food is good. We love happy hour! The lemon drops are wonderful, and my favorite salad is the apple walnut.

The meal was excellent. I had the beef stroganoff and it was even better than the one I make! The atmosphere is a bit funky, but cozy. The service was fast and personable. It takes a bit of time to wait for your meals, but the food is prepared with care and with time because it is "real" food. Worth... More

Only had one chance to sample this lovely little restaurant, but it was a good experience. The food was very good and the service was even better. Very pleasant atmosphere and great view of Fairhaven. I'll be back. Wish they had lunch!

If you expect to be in and out in a hurry this is not your place. However, if you don't mind the wait and want to enjoy amazing food with good company this is a terrific place to do it. Le Chat Noir or as we call it The Black Cat has an excellent menu. Everything I've tried I've not... More

I live in Whatcom County and have gone to the Chat Noir maybe a billion times. It is best, in my view, at night...especially in the winter...when the trees are lit below and everything is frosty. I consider the fondue to be a signature item tho people seem to talk about the steak, which I've not had. The happy hour... More

I love the food and atmosphere and have dined here many times but the service is absolutely horrid! I feel like the girls actually ignore you just to be snobby and rude (yes I feel it is intentional). Sometimes I receive attentive service and other times it has been sub-par. I feel like the owner and managers consider this level... More
