This burger was amazing. Seriously. It had just the best balance of ingredients and the salmon itself was fresh and deliciously cooked. The rosemary potato wedges that came with it were also very tasty. We went for lunch, and arrived before noon, which was a good idea. It isn't necessarily a small cafe, but it is popular. It's below Village... More

We found this restaurant for lunch on our way to Vancouver, BC where we spent our Christmas vacation. It was very good. Two of us are GF and the third person was not, but there was something delicious for everyone! I especially liked the GF quiche and the split pea soup was excellent, too. We were taken with the Fairhaven... More

Our waitress was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. We took her advice and loved it. We tried the peanut soup and quinoa salad. They were both delicious. The restaurant is in downtown Fairhaven. It was a wonderful place to walk around and duck in for a quick bite.

This is a restaurant that is unforgettable especially if you have a piece of their peanut butter pie! We went in the summer and sat in their outdoor courtyard and this time it wax winter so sat inside beside their awesome fireplace. Both experiences were awesome!

Ahhh yes, the peanut butter pie, It is heaven for peanut butter lovers and we make a gluten-free version to boot. Over the top? Absolutely! Our baking staff works hard to provide homemade baguettes, molasses wheat rolls, pies, cakes, cookies, muffins and surprises everyday. Pair these up with a glass of wine or cup of espresso and you have yourself... More

Located right next to Village Books, the Colophon has been a staple for decades. It is a fairly simple sandwich shop but with expansive seating and quick access to the book store. Their Peanut soup, if you hit it on a day when it has been prepared well, is excellent. With a knack for hiring new and old hippy wannabes... More

Michael, thanks for your review of the Colophon. In a world where customer service has become quite impersonal, we have decided to provide as excellent and friendly service as possible and most of our comment cards say just the same. We also pride ourselves on being unique and not the typical drone like servers at national chain restaurants who read... More

It connects to the bookstore! I had divine split soup - highly recommended for a winter lunch while you contemplate what more books you should buy.

Baggage, thanks for your write up about our split pea soup. We say it is thicker than fog and it feels like a full meal. We make 5 soups here a day all from scratch. Usually the famous African Peanut gets the most mention, but the split pea is my favorite with a side of our housemade croutons. YUM! Happy... More

When we arrived Allison was right there to greet us and help us find a seat. The menu was substantial with many choices and a great place for hearty food on a rainy day. I ordered the creamy chicken pot pie with baguette and it was awesome. They have done a wonderful job re purposing a building from the 1800's.... More

This is our go-to eatery in Fairhaven and it never fails to disappoint. The food is simply excellent and it is clear that they are using wholesome ingredients in their preparation. Servings are generous. Signature dishes (for us) include the nacho's, the split pea soup and the milkshakes.

Okay, it is raining so hard you are scanning the horizon for an Ark. You are famished. Ah-ha! Directly across street from hotel is a cafe connected to a large bookstore. We have lunch everytime we visit the city. I love the soup, and usually also get the chicken pot pie. The staff is always, without exception, friendly and knowledgeable. My all time favourite soup is the asparagus bisque.

Schark, Thank you for visiting and reviewing the Colophon! We hope you will be back the next time you are in the 'Ham. It is customers like you that keep small local business "in business". We specialize in down home comfort food with the long lost art of customer service in a warm and inviting atmosphere. More
