Located in historic building over a hundred years old and adjacent to city park space for nearly 30 years, the Colophon Cafe is the true heart of Fairhaven. We strive for fresh and delicious food, offering five homemade soups a day, fresh salads and good old comfort food with the best French dips, pulled pork and potpies. Our bakers make all our goodies from scratch. We are undergoing a remodel and expansion in early 2014 and are excited to see you soon!

My Mom, 8 year old son, and I had lunch here in April 2015. In the bottom floor of a large building, the pillars, brickwork, and stained wood made it feel like we were in another time, and the menu was full of interesting things to eat! We loved the soup sampler, an idea that I'd not seen before. Service... More

One of the best things about this place is that it is connected with several other businesses that share the same building (Independent bookstore, past & oil store, Paper Dreams variety store, and a wine tasting shop). They are connected but distinct. The atmosphere is very laid-back - pardon the use of the term, but it is very "granola" but... More

Really enjoyed the relaxed vibe. Four of us stopped in for a quick lunch and had a good time. Portion sizes are a good size, and half sandwiches were offered, which as it turned out was a good thing. We usually eat small meals when we travel, and this prepared us for the remainder of the day. Nice simple wine... More

I have mixed feelings over my first visit to the Colophon Café. I really enjoyed my food and it seemed like they used very high quality ingredients. But I was overcharged. I ordered the half French dip and added a cup of the soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla soup. I only ordered the half French dip because... More

Sandwiches always good, love the African peanut soup, and the tortilla soup. That pie is something we get every visit to Bellingham.

This place is pretty great if you're looking for a casual lunch spot! The service is amazing, I had a waitress named Chelsi. She was very positive and super kind. I ordered the three salad appetizer and the Shepherd's pie - both were delicious. I stayed in for a bit after I ate to write and have another cup of... More

We chose the Colophon Cafe as it was opposite our hotel (Fairhaven Village Inn) and advertised that it had craft beer on draft! It turns out - we couldn't have made a better choice. We both had burgers - Alaskan Salmon and Sacre Bleu - and they were both outstanding. They came with rosemary potato wedges (roasted not fried) which... More

This burger was amazing. Seriously. It had just the best balance of ingredients and the salmon itself was fresh and deliciously cooked. The rosemary potato wedges that came with it were also very tasty. We went for lunch, and arrived before noon, which was a good idea. It isn't necessarily a small cafe, but it is popular. It's below Village... More

We found this restaurant for lunch on our way to Vancouver, BC where we spent our Christmas vacation. It was very good. Two of us are GF and the third person was not, but there was something delicious for everyone! I especially liked the GF quiche and the split pea soup was excellent, too. We were taken with the Fairhaven... More
