A best bet in the Fairhaven district

And not just because of the "vault of rare VERY select ales and beers from around the world" as another reviewer put it. Or the turn of the century pressed tin ceiling and other great pub architecture details. Or the extra-cool underground location. Or the decks of cards and games for those... read more

My husband and I come here once in a while, when we feel like splurging on something different. The menu does have expensive options on it, but there are also a few reasonably priced options like burgers and pot pies. The menu changes seasonally so it's fun to see the different food and drink options. They have a good drink... More

Beer & Ale devotees worship here regularly, for GOOD reason. The Archer Ale House is a vault of rare VERY select ales & beers from around the world. Its comfortable walking distance from Bellingham's Ferry terminal & the Amtrak station (which are adjacent to one another). One cannot overstate the Archer Ale House's excellent collection of beers & ales. It... More

We are locals but have not visited this establishment in years. We were pleasantly surprised with the changes to the menu. We were there for happy hour and it was packed. We had pork tacos and raw oysters. My husband liked the tacos so much he put in another order. We would like to see more local beer on tap... More

The Archer Ale house is located below street level but everything about it from the rotating selections on tap to the excellent food is a cut above. House ground burgers, smoked then baked chicken wings are just a couple of the many delicious alternatives on the menu. Slowly cooked to perfection... I've never been disappointed at the Arch. Handcrafted desserts... More

We were looking for a place for dinner in Bellingham and found this cool place at the bottom of the stairs. Nice atmosphere, looks like a good place to hang out with friends, comfortable and relaxed. We had spatzle which is usually pretty hard to find and we really liked it. We also had an apple bacon burger and the... More

My husband and I stopped there for lunch during a recent Sunday drive. We ended up having a nice burger each. Well, I had two sirloin sliders and he had an apple bacon burger. The patties were juicy and flavorful and really hit the spot. My husband's burger was served with some nicely browned, soft steak fries that he enjoyed.... More
