The atmosphere at the Archer Ale house really nice and inviting. It is a basement "pub" so it feels a bit like walking into Cheers. The offer a very wide variety of ales, both bottled and on tap. The server was very friendly and helpful. The difficulty for me and my friend was that the food was just so-so. There... More

During our recent vacation in Washington State we visited Bellingham (actually Fair Haven) Washington. It is a fantastic little town with lots of character and charm but we did not enjoy our dining experience at the Archer Ale House. It is in the basement of a building so it is dark and gloomy. When we sat down at our first... More

My husband and I recently moved to Bellingham. As newbies we've set out to try a lot of the local restaurants. Many people recommended Archer's, but I was not impressed. The food and drinks were pricey. I had the crab bisque and my husband the crab cakes. The bisque was alright, but the cakes not so much. For two beers... More

I Took my wife out for a late dinner on our wedding day. We were not looking for anything special just some food and a drink (we already had the reception earlier during the day). This corner pub in a cellar proved to be just what we where looking for. Genuine pub feeling, small booths to sit in, good for... More

Friends took us to Archer Ale otherwise we would never have ventured down the steep concrete stairs to this below the sidewalk pub. The atmosphere of walking down and coming into this establishment is a treat. We were there for a late lunch and the place was quiet and welcoming. We had to wander around looking for anyone. Other diners... More

Whenever we are in the area we like to drop by this pub and have a nice cold one or two. It is very cozy and has a traditional pub decor.

The beer and whisky we ordered were great but the food was so bland and "meh". We ordered the $15 crab cakes and got a very pretty presentation of a some beet greens, couple slices of roasted beets and 2 very small looks-like-pre-frozen crab cakes that tasted like they were heated in the microwave. They grind their own locally sourced... More

We read the reviews and decided to give this place a try because it was close to our hotel and still open for food at 10pm. Lots of different beers and ales to try, unfortunately, the one I ordered was supposedly not available, sadly they found one which was very flat and acrid, and had sediment stuck on the side... More

The Archer Ale House is located below street level and is rather small. They feature a full bar with a nice beer and whisky selection. Archer offers whisky flights for those who can't decide. They also maintain some rare-ish bottled beers in case you missed them when they were first available. What really elevates this though is the food menu.... More

We arrived a bit early to check in at our hotel and wanted to catch a game in TV - they sent us to this great pub - and it is exactly that. Irish nachos were yummy and the Bloody Mary was also good. Hubby had Reuben and I had a small salad too - all in all a good... More
