Great sandwiches with an interesting twist. Really good bread, generous fillings and unusual and tasty sauces, These are not the deli type meats, but are pieces of an actual roasted piece of pork, or turkey or whatever. They are accompanied by a slice or two of roasted potato covered in a creamy, tasty sauce. Sometimes they have a fruity drink... More

Quick Take: * Delicious sandwiches! My favorite is the Pavo (turkey) * Try the chicha drink (purple corn juice) or Inca Cola for an authentic experience! This place is awesome - really delicious food in a fun and casual atmosphere. They specialize in sandwiches but also have various non-sandwhich daily specials. I have tried nearly everything on the menu (and... More

We weren't really sure what we were ordering but the staff helped us figure it out. The sauces for the sandwiches were very tasty and the price seemed reasonable. The ambience left a bit to be desired and it was a bit chilly.

We opened the door at 1 minute until 6PM. The sign said they closed at 6 but they told us to come on in. Really nice friendly people. The restaurant is in an old building which has seen better days and the decor is early thrift shop but the revues were really good and we had never had Peruvian so... More

We like food with flavor. Their food has it. Simple enough. We're excited to try the soups as well. Make sure you come on Thursdays for $5 sandwiches. Avoid the desserts (maybe they used all the flavor in the sandwiches and didn't have any left over for the desserts:) but definitely try some of the authentic drinks. Cafe Rumba will... More

I don't know why I waited so long to try Cafe Rumba on State Street in Bellingham. Yesterday I stopped in for a sandwich, and it was unbelievably good. The meat was tender, the sauce was amazing, everything was fresh and delicious. The staff is courteous and the prices are reasonable. Everything about the experience was good. I can't wait... More

After returning from a month long trip to Peru, I lamented that it wouldn't be possible to introduce friends to the exciting flavors we experienced. Fortunately for me, Cafe Rumba opened and delivers the real goods -salsa huacatay with Peruvian mint, butifarra sandwiches, potatoes with uancaina sauce with spicy aji amarillo - all with the verve of contemporary novo-andino cuisine.... This is the kind of cafe I look for in any city: completely unique and authentic. The menu choices are tasty and when I'm not sure about what to pick the Peruvian owner is helpful with suggestions and he's always been right! Go ahead and try something different. Sandwiches are really good and the simple decor makes it a cozy,... More

I'm so glad Cafe Rumba is here in Bellingham. If you are looking for a place to find something different than all the other lunch spots, this is it! Sure you can find sandwiches easily enough, but not like these...the bread is handmade especially for these sandwiches (crispy outside and soft chewy inside). Everything is made from scratch. The unique... More

The huancaina Sauce is creamy , just the right amount of spice . The breads for the sandwiches are always fresh and crunchy warm, my favorite is the turkey (very moist) sandwich . Hope they keep adding on to their menu so Bellingham can have a taste of the wonderful Peruvian cousine.
