John Howie's is on of the many steak houses I visit when possible. I went here because it was no 1 on my list of ranked steak houses. And also this year, it was superb and still unbeaten. The filet mignon is tender, juicy, ultimately tasty. This place is expensive of not very expensive. But besides that, if you want... More

Had one of the best steak meals I've ever eaten here. Three of us had dinner - delicious crab & shrimp chowder, magnificent ribeye steak (48 days aged), great sides, excellent service. Highly recommended. Not cheap but worth what you pay.

I have been to many of the steak houses around Seattle and this is by far my favorite. Not only are the steaks world class, but the sides and starters are just as impressive. The mac and cheese is a must!

The food here is marvelous any time, but we came on Sunday, and their half pound burger is on happy hour all day long for $11. My husband and I split that for an extra $2, but that meant we each got our own plate and fries - way too many fries, but what the heck. We also ordered the... More

There is something about high ceilings that adds to the eating experience. I Cannot really explain how volume adds depth, but it does. There are two spaces in John Howie; up front a high end sports bar and towards the back and completely separated, a sumptuous dining area. The room breathes meat. Breaking with the norm, we began with a... More

We had reservations at 6:30 on a very busy Friday night, the last Friday before Christmas. We arrived at 6:10 and the bar was full, but to my surprise our table was waiting, beautiful atmosphere, so many waiters and staff all smiling and acknowledging you as we passed thru , Our waiter came right over and gave some wonderful wine... As a vegetarian dining out with my meat-eating colleagues, I went along for the conversation and hoped for the best. There was one vegetarian main dish option, a couple of soups, and some salads that could be modified. We had a group of 10-12 and the service was professional but extremely slow. Meat-eaters reported their steaks were cooked exactly as... More

I keep coming back for their Roasted Turkey Confit with Cranberry Mayonnaise. Sweet and savory really love this one, can't wait to branch out one afternoon and try a different one. My friend said that the Sweet & Sour Sesame Chicken Salad, was one of the best salads he's had in a long time. Portions are a little on the... More

Steaks & meats from around the world ("would you like your Wagyu from Japan or Australia sir?". We hosted 20 people in the private dining room & the service was attentive, kitchen efficient and food of highest standard. Pricey to ridiculous (top end steaks over $200!) but you can order to your budget (relatively). Lovely dining spaces with booths &... More

The experience was something else. Food aside, which was amazing, our waiter good to heart the theme of our celebration: "The beauty of love!" Every word, every dish, everything was presented with a dash of love. Just awesome!
