We decided to give it a try after reading reviews raving about the place. Well, it was a huge disappointment. Food was not bad but not over the top that I would expect in this price range. The atmosphere was good, mainly businessmen having dinner with business partners. But the service was the worst I've had. They were trying waaaay... More

It was great place to go out for dinner with your significant other. The steak was right about what I ordered. The appetizer and dessert were excellent too. I highly recommend this place. If you subscribe to the online news letters they offer, you can get a complimentary signature appetizer or dessert, also!

John Howie Steak is the best steakhouse in the the Seatte/Bellevue area. Period! I dine here at least once a year for my husband's work and boy is it a treat for me! I always order the ribeye (the eye or the cap...I can never remember but it's the more flavorful cut) and it is the most perfectly salted and... More

While the food is very good here, the service is the star! The people have beautiful manners, are friendly and and offer 5 star service! It is a pleasant experience to have dinner at John Howie. The steak and twice baked potato were perfectly presented and we walked out with a delicious, complimentary chocolate! A super evening! We have had... More

If you go on a Fri/Sat night, they have prime rib, which was the best part of our meal (aside from the gougere that came in the bread basket - I could eat 100 of those, so good!). Hubby got a ribeye which was a little over-charred but still delicious. The real reason we come here is for their wedge... More

Food's ok but not outstanding. One of our side-dishes, spinach, is over-cooked. Good environment but service's kind of pretentious & snorty. Not recommended.

Our first time here. Went for our son's wedding dinner. Had a private dining room and the service was awesome. The meal was planned out by the wedding couple, but everything was excellent. First time for steak tartare and ahi tuna tartare, fell in love with both, although I can say I'll wait till we go back to get more.... More

Was told this was the place to go for special occasions. Went to celebrate our 27th Anniversary. Wait staff hovered way too much. It was uncomfortable. Ordered tableside Caesar and it was awful. Too much oil and mustard and missing anchovies. Steak was ok, the chocolate molten cake was dry and stale. Over priced and not worthy of its reputation.
