We were just passing thru town on a driving vacation and wanted to eat only local. What a gem, nothing fancy, just really good cooking. I had the pulled pork and my husband a turkey club. Both were exceptional in quality and quality. And of course we bought a dozen cookies to go.

We had a good breakfast here. There was nothing execptional about it, but it met our needs. The framily run establishment has very relaxed basic look about it. The staff was friendly and service was good.

Amazing. Only drawback is that they were closed on Sundays. Yes, service is slow, but they warn you and there is no need to hurry. 100% mom and pop and the food is amazing. Fresh roasted local coffee, delicious breakfast, warm hospitality, and decor that is blissfully stuck in a time warp. A true local experience. We will certainly go... More

The three of us arrive on a rainy Saturday afternoon hoping for some local country fare. The server couldn't be bothered to acknowledge his customers. Took for ever this only one other table also waiting for food. Looked in the kitchen and apparently we were distrusting their lunch.

The food is not so bad but it takes forever! We waited 40 minutes for lunch. Will not go back because the owner thought it was OK to wait that long..

The Sunrise Cafe was a change of pace from the typical chain restaurants. We arrived at 9 am and was greeted quickly. We ordered our coffee. They offer 3 different strengths to satisfy everyone's tastes. I am a country girl and I enjoy scrapple so that is what I ordered. The food took a long time to come to the... More

Could be a charming cottage eating spot but the service was poor and from the salt and pepper shakers and napkin dispenser to the coffee cups the place was dirty. The food was great. I loved that they had three coffee choices -nice touch. Some training for the staff and a good cleaning and updated cottage decor could make this... More

The Sunrise Cafe serves breakfast and lunch, and is right off Highway 11. But you can also get there quickly from I-81 at the Woodstock exit. The exterior and interior of the building are definitely showing their age. The interior looks like it hasn't been touched in 20 years. Some of the booths are falling apart, for instance. The cafe...
