Dixie Bones has wonderful pulled pork and you get the choice of sauce or no sauce instead of haiving it arrive already seasoned for you. The pork can stand alone with just the wonderful smoky flavor. The potato salad is worth the trip and I often leave with an extra container just because it is so good. I love everything... more

I've seen the Dixie Bone commercial numerous times! I finally got around to trying out their food about a month ago. I knew I was going to get some finger licking good Barbeque......what I got was a barbeque chicken sandwich that I didn't even finish! I was totally disappointed in the flavor of the food. I'm from N.C. and I've... more

We count ourselves fortunate that just as we were thinking about barbeque we sat at a light, seeing a sign for Dixie Bones. The food was excellent, the atmosphere authentic, a true find for us. more

We tried Dixie Bones after some friends told us about it and how good it was. It was a let down for us it lacked the flavor we were hoping for. We didn't care for the beans or any of the other sides for that matter. I will say that the homemade rolls for the sandwiches were good and fresh!... more

I drove by purely by accident. Upon seeing the place I had to go in. I was surprised by the menu which said they are from Birmingham, AL which is my home town. I had ribs, pulled pork, catfish, corn bread, collard greens and beans with rice. All was delicious, better than any in Birmingham and believe me when I... more

...in the "immediate" area does this place even stay open. Overpriced, average tasting home cooking. You do get the true ambiance of Rte. 1 / Hoodbridge though. It's worth a drive over to Famous Daves (and we are anti-corporate-chain food!). more

Texas has some wonderful barbeque, so does Memphis and Kansas City and Wilson, NC. Southern Maryland has some real Pit BBQ places. Vermont has some good Q too. For some reason N. Va has only a few good places. Dixie Bones is simply the best at this end of the state. As for being a "hole" in my opinion its... more

The only decent Southern BBQ restaurant I have found in the area. Even some of the regular customers seem imported from Dixie. EVERYTHING is good. Beware the Sunday buffet crowd!!! You'll lose an arm if you get between Bubba and his ribs. more
