We found this little gem in Winchester. Small french cafe, quiet atmosphere, delightful host and DELICIOUS made from scratch food. I love the warm plum tart with brie. The onion soup is outstanding. The duck - delicious. The creme brulee - out of this world!! You can't be in a hurry to eat here. Everything is made fresh by Frederic... More

Very good meal and service. Would recommend to anyone. We were on a business trip, but would also be a great date night.

20 friends and family members joined to celebrate my birthday. I chose La Nicoise Cafe because the food is so lovely and the service excellent! Following champagne toasts, Frederic provided his outstanding onion soup (my personal favorite in all of America), romaine salad with walnuts and rack of lamb with Nicoise's signature bean casserole and lovely wine. All guests were... More

Who would have thought of going to Winchester, VA for a great French dinner. My wife and I have travelled all over the world and have dined in great restaurants from New York to Beijing. But this little café sets the standard for great bouillabaisse and paella. The owner is the chef and he has carried his mother's recipes with... More

Chef owner makes us feel like we are family visiting his French kitchen. Food is always tasty, and prepared as we like. Chef makes special adjustments to our taste or dietary restrictions. As a couple, we always feel special. Every guest we brought has enjoyed a special meal. Small, cozy restaurant. One block from pedestrian mall.

In a strange town, not sure about recommendations, we picked this as our spot for dinner because it looked warm and welcoming as we drove by earlier in the day. So Thankful we did. The staff was welcoming and very professional Their recommendations were spot on The owner/Chef came to each table to make sure everyone was satisfied. Our dinners... More

The old saying that first impressions are important applies here. From the first interaction, the server was detached, and she seemed uninterested in her job. Perhaps she was just having a bad day. We don't need to have a smiling server anyway, so that's not very important to us. But after we ordered, a basket with some slices from a... More

....of the owner and wait-staff. Sometimes they get backed up and it shows in the frenziness of the owner coming out into the dining room and making a plea for everyone to hold on as he is the only one back in the kitchen that night. Over the past 3 years, I've never seen the dining area half full as... More

We dined last night at La Nicoise for our anniversary. The wait staff was attentive, but not in your face. The food was very tasty. The owner/chef comes out of the kitchen to check on the quality of the food and the experience. The french onion soup was delicious. The sauce on my beef was exquisite. My husband also enjoyed...
