We went here for our anniversary dinner and must sadly admit to being disappointed. The food is mediocre (certainly not terrible), the prices sky-high (for the quality of what you get), the service awful but the atmosphere very pleasant. Regarding the service: everything started out lovely and both of us ordered a glass of wine upon arriving. After the server... More

Homemade pastas and specials prepared by real Italians. Most done in Northern Italian Style. The Restaurant is quaint and music plays a large part of the ambiance. Marcella greets you as an old friend and the food is first rate. This is real Italian Food, not American Italian food....

My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner, let's start by no hostess at the service station we even asked if we were to seat our selves. At first glance it looks like a restaurant Gordon Ramsey would review on kitchen nightmares haha it's so old dated dusty. The service is unbelievably slow not just from the service... More

This restaurant is more expensive than most in this area and I had not been in a while as I am still recovering from the economic downturn. I went a few weeks ago and can honestly say I had forgotten what I had been missing! The food and staff were both exceptional. It is true that the decor is "Old... More

Of course this is a restaurant not a café, but the atmosphere at the tables outside overlooking Winchester's mall made me think of the Grand Life at one of Europe's cafés. And I had a grand meal -- the ciopino with its clams, shrimp and crab in a tasty sauce. Good crusty bread to mop this last up too. The... More

Violino is probably the BEST Italian Restaurant that I have dined at so far in the US. Located in Winchester, VA I was very impressed. This restaurant is a fine dining establishment, it does not have the "fine dining" exterior image, like a fine dining restaurant in LA, NY, or Chicago. We were able to show up and get a... More

A superb place for dinner after a stroll along the pedestrian mall of lovely shops and restaurants in the beautifully restored downtown historic area. Open for dinner from six to nine. A very popular place for locals so reservations are highly recommended. Recently redecorated. Wine list limited to Italian wines and reasonably priced. A great place for foodies.

It was quite a surprise to find such good Italian in an out of the way spot like Winchester, Virginia. We ordered the calamari and were shocked at how well prepared it was. It was as good or better than anything we have had in Italy. My wife had the ravioli special - it was delicious, and I had the... More

I would like to thank all of the people that have written reviews. (good and bad). I wish I had the time to resopnd to every single one! As most of you know ,or don't ,we have a tight knit staff that helps to provide the ambiance, service and professionally prepared food. We have been in business for 19 yrs... More

Gave this place a try after seeing good reviews and it did not disappoint. Food and service was outstanding and the outside eating area was very nice. A nice variety of vegetarian options as well as classic Italian plates. I think it overpriced for the area which is why I went with 4 stars instead of 5. But if you... More
