Violino is by far one of the best destinations for a true Italian experience. It’s almost hard to believe a place like this is nestled in the downtown mall of Winchester. I’ve been going to Violino for more than 5 years and every time I don’t think they can get any better – they do. My family’s first visit only... More

This was our second time at Violino. We brought a new friend along as well. Our memory of our first time was that it was excellent. We were not disappointed. Although they were busy, we never felt rushed, the appetizers were served promptly, the meals were just excellent and the wine list extensive. The service, food and value were all... More

We have visited Winchester several times, specifically to dine at Violino. The menu is extensive, and the food and service are excellent. The space is decorated with musical instruments, making for an interesting atmosphere. If you're lucky, the chef-owner will serenade you with an aria from an opera. Always a wonderful evening.

We went to this restaurant on the recomendation of our hotel and also trip advisor. We were not disappointed! We thought the timing of our drinks and meal was perfect, we never felt rushed by anyone. When we have a nice neal I don't like it to be rushed, they did a great job. We were served a sweet potato,amaretto... More

Small portions and not inexpensive, but genuine Italian we were lucky to have a mild night and ate outside on the pedestrian mall. Friendly helpful waitress and owner

We are glad that you enjoyed the rabbit. Our rabbit is raised here in Winchester and only grazes on the pasture leaving the meat very flavorful. As always foraging for local meat is normally on the higher price per pound since it is grown in smaller batches. We try to give a filling portion without having any leftovers since i... More

I was in town for work today and was craving a good Italian cuisine. After traveling over 200 miles and eating fast food, I decided to look up "fine Italian food" online in Winchester VA. It lead me to the most euphoric spot named "Violino Ristorante". Located in the quaint old town walking mall of Winchester VA, stood this oasis... More

I have lived in Italy, been stationed in Italy, and go to Italy each year. Naturally when we are out traveling here in the US, we seek out Italian restaurants. We were in Winchester and sought out this place. It was a great disappointment. Very expensive. Wines that cost under $10 retail were $30, the cheapest on the wine list.... More

We were born in Italy and lived there for over 30 years. We also go back to visit our family yearly. Naturally we should know a little something about Italy as well. Were you stationed in the North or South.? I recall the evening that you came in. We had a pharmaceutical company in our smaller dining room and apologize... More

this place had a lot of reviews so I decided to visit this place with 2 friends of mine, the service was friendly but the food was horrible, one of my friend had to ask them to remake his order, the other one told me it's edible. Edible ? you don't spend that much of money in a restaurant just... More

You should really specify what you are looking for! If you are looking for Italian/American food you came to the wrong place. But if you are looking for traditional, authentic Italian food then you were in the correct place. Our Chef was trained in the Northern part of Italy for the first 20 years of his career and has continued... More

We were very surprised after reading all the positive, glowing reviews, to have just an average meal for a well above average cost. Porcini risotto entree(meatless) for $25. Gnocchi with pesto (also meatless) for $17. The appetizer of sliced smoked meats/ cantaloupe for $16 was the best for the money. It wasn't bad by any means, but just not perhaps... More

Thank you for dining with us. Let me comment a little on your entrees. Just because a dish doesn't have meat in it, doesn't mean that it should cost less than something with meat. First, the Porcini that we buy are actually more expensive per pound than the majority of meat out there. Secondly, we only use Carnaroli Rice (grown... More
