It was quite a surprise to find such good Italian in an out of the way spot like Winchester, Virginia. We ordered the calamari and were shocked at how well prepared it was. It was as good or better than anything we have had in Italy. My wife had the ravioli special - it was delicious, and I had the... More

I would like to thank all of the people that have written reviews. (good and bad). I wish I had the time to resopnd to every single one! As most of you know ,or don't ,we have a tight knit staff that helps to provide the ambiance, service and professionally prepared food. We have been in business for 19 yrs... More

Gave this place a try after seeing good reviews and it did not disappoint. Food and service was outstanding and the outside eating area was very nice. A nice variety of vegetarian options as well as classic Italian plates. I think it overpriced for the area which is why I went with 4 stars instead of 5. But if you... More

We've been going to Violino for 15 years, and it just keeps getting better. Just had summer lunch on the patio twice in one week! Each time we had the soup of the day (creamed mushroom, last time) and different specials featuring fresh fruits, caprese tomatoes, in-house-made mozzarella, and prosciutto. Delicious, and even more to the point, just right for... More

Having spent time last summer in Italy and frequent diners on Federal Hill in Providence, I was a bit skeptical of a little Italian restaurant in this tiny town. The food was incredible, the stuffed squash flowers were amazing, the cured beefs with peaches were excellent along with our main courses of veal parm and lamb with risotto were delicious.... More

Our friends had raved about Violino as being one of their favorite restaurants. As our day wrapped up from attending a local peach festival, we were able to meet them there for dinner last evening. Many people say that it's amazing to find such a great restaurant in a smaller city, I actually have come to believe that's where the... More

I reviewed this incredible restaurant in 2010. Since that time, I have dined there many times. It is always a pleasure, never disappointing and always a treat. This time I was there for my birthday (#75) lunch with a group of friends. Once lovely Marcella, the friendly, welcoming hostess, heard that it was my birthday, she informed her husband, the... More

This restaurant is an amazing find in a smaller city. My sister and I enjoyed an incredible lunch with appetizers, entre and dessert. The chef even comped us a wonderfully nuanced cold peach soup. We wre thrilled with every aspect of the experience. This restaurant deserves to number one for the area!

My husband and I have 2 favorite restaurants in Winchester and this is one of them. We have been going there since it's opening. The atmosphere is delightful ! Marcella, one of the owners, is almost always there to greet her customers and to make them feel welcome. The waiters and waitresses are very knowledgeable about every item on the... More

Great atmosphere, especially when the owner starts to perform and sing. The food is wonderful, but you do pay for that, which is why I gave a 4 star rating. Several locals told me that this is a typical restaurant to go to if you have a special occasion to celebrate.

I'd heard of this restaurant and didn't know what to expect when three of us visited for lunch one afternoon and it became one the most pleasant restaurant experiences I've had. First the ambiance beats anyplace I've been in the Shenandoah Valley, such a peaceful setting. The wait staff were equal to the staff we've had some of the finest... More
