What great German and eastern European fare! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our meals and the dessert. It's cute, and service is friendly and prompt. Enjoy it!
We were just passing through Winchester on a Sunday amble through the country and stopped into this bistro by chance. The place is informal, but its informality belies something really nice happening in the kitchen. It is basically a bistro that specializes in a wide selection of microbrews (and a few wines). The beer selection is quite good, with some... More
We spent only one night in Winchester, but we feel certain that we found the best restaurant in town - we walked through the downtown area in the afternoon, and found numerous restaurants all very close to our hotel - we decided to ask some of the local folks we met in the Piccadilly Pub for their opinion, and they... We experienced excellent, friendly service at our outdoor table and when we went inside to browse the extensive beer and wine selection. The food was delicious. The wiener schnitzel was authentic and tender. The seafood pasta, with lump crab, smoked salmon and mussels in a cream sauce, was scrumptious. Try the local brews. My favorite was a hard cider ale.
This is one of my favorite places for lunch in the Winchester area! The service is always top notch and so is the food. I have ordered many different items from their menu and have never been disappointed. The one sad thing... they no longer serve Douwe Egbert's coffee. But the coffee they serve now is good but not GREAT... More
We were hungry and stumbled on this really nice busy little bistro as we entered the pedestrian mall and were fortunate to find a table outside on a perfect fall day. Almost every choice on the menu looked good, but the crab cake plate and the cocque monsieur sandwich we had were both perfect. The wine and beer selection is... More
We ate lunch here and it was so good we went back for dinner. This place has a german twist, along with bistro items. Lunch sandwiches and salads were really good - the crab cake special excellent --and generously portioned. They have an interesting $7 wine wall if you want to buy some for later, or they will serve you... More
I recently had the occasion to have lunch here twice and I must say that things have greatly improved. Salads were fresh, sandwiches tasty and well seasoned, waitstaff attentive but not intrusive. Would definitely go back.
This is a lovely place in town. The atmosphere is nice - friendly and not stuffy. We ate dinner here and both my husband and I had first rate meals. The red cabbage that was served with his was flavored with apples and cinnamon and so good. AND, the sacher torte for dessert was wonderful. We will certainly return for... More
I had an excellent leisurely meal of braised pig's shank with saurekraut and roast potatoes. everything was properly cooked with great spices. The menu is accompanied by and excellent beer selection and some nice wines, I thought that the others had looked good. In fact it took mw a while to make up my mind, because there were quite a...
