Look forward to date nights at Sona

WE really like Sona and would highly recommend it. My husband and I are from the US but have lived in the UK, off and on, for the last 10 years. As such we have become very fond of Indian/Bangladeshi food. When we visit the family in NOVA, and we are out of the metro area, this is where we... read more

Got a reservation on Valentine's day for their special four-course meal. We arrived on time and probably waited at least 20 minutes before even being acknowledged to be seated. After being seated, it was really just a comedy of errors. The waitress (I say THE waitress, because she was the only one on duty) attempted to serve us someone else's... More

I have probably eaten at a thousand Indian restaurants in the world from India to Germany, the UK, and throughout the USA and this place presented the WORST food I have EVER had. WAY too expensive for what amount you receive! I had the Butter Chicken (How do you mess THAT up?). Strong taste of tomato sauce, NO Indian spices... More

I've been to Sona twice, and couldn't be happier. The staff are friendly, and the chef/owner comes out and makes pleasant conversation, time permitting. I feel he genuinely cares about you, as a guest, not a customer. Waiters are extremely nice, prices are more than fair, and food is made fresh to order. Chef will even let you look in... More

We have been there several times. A booking is almost a requisite as it is popular. The food is heavenly and on fathers Day, they do an Indian BBQ and play cricket outside!

I really shouldn't give any rating to this restaurant because we were turned away and didn't eat here. My sister and I both really like Indian food, so when she came to visit me a few weeks ago, we decided to have lunch here. We arrived and the parking in front was full, we parked in the back, and the... More

We stumbled across this restaurant on a recent trip to Winchester. The outside doesn't look like much, but step through the doors and WOW! Nicely done up, fresh made food, knowledgeable and friendly staff - you can't ask for more. Their cooking is centered on I love Indian food, especially spicy food, and this place doesn't disappoint. Be warned, listen... More

I am a regular customer of Sona and have been for many years. I work just 5 minutes from the restaurant and find myself here at least once a week, sometimes twice. The choices of restaurants in Winchester is extensive, and Sona is by far, the #1 place to go. From the relaxing atmosphere and calming music playing in the... More

I found this place on my quest at another restaurant and decides to give it a try. I had the bread pakora which was good with the sauce. I ordered the tiki masala lamb the Saudi was good but the lamb was tough. I prefer my meat tender. I also had a mango lassi which I though was just ok.... More

Disregard the few negative reviews because those folks obviously didn't eat at Sona. Awesome food, great service, incredible experience. This is my first experience with Indian food so granted, I don't have anything to compare it to. Regardless, if it's the only Indian food I ever eat I will be extremely satisfied. There were so many different flavors in the... More
