The food was really good. It was just to spicy. You can choose the spice in 10 steps and we had 3 and it was still really spicy. They also have a really good naan bread.

It is surprising to see such mixed reviews for this restaurant, especially since our overall impression and experience were positive. We love Indian food, so we arrived with fairly high expectations. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday at 1pm, and it took a minute or two for someone to come greet us, most likely due to the fact... More

I worked for Indian Drs and learned to love their food. I was VERY happy to discover Sona. It is charming like stepping into a different world when you step inside. You are greeted and seated quickly. The chef always comes out to say hello. And you food can be as spicy or not as you wish. A great place... More

Walked in and waited to be seated for lunch, 15 minutes later someone comes up to seat us, then says to order quickly because the kitchen is closing. Couldn't you tell me that before we tried to sit down? We left, so I can't say anything about the food - we didn't get that far. The parking lot is tiny... More

The atmosphere and food were wonderful! You can pick your rating of spices or "heat" in a scale of 1-10. I had number 3 and it was perfect. Our meal started our with an authentic chai tea followed by a delicious salad. For my meal I had potatoes and curry and my husband had goat. The portions were good and... More

My husband loves Indian and I, too, enjoy it...he lived in NYC and misses good Indian food. We were excited to find out about Sona and rushed out one evening to try it. We arrived close to closing, but the owner came out immediately and made us feel welcome. The food was average, but we chalked it up to the... More

My niece asked her mother, my husband and I to meet her at Sona's for dinner tonight. We are very glad we did! I lived overseas for 12 years and loved the variety of restaurants that serve really fresh cuisine--none of this 'adjusted for the American palate' which one gets in so many restaurants in the US. We had an... More

Went with friends (indian) who had been there last year during a weekend golf outing. The service by the easter european waitress was better than the food. It would not be such a problem if the big group of indians who talked to the chef about the quality of the food. In an antithesis to "Customer is always right!" the... More

My husband and I were in the Winchester area and my husbands favorite food is Indian. I on the other hand am NO fan and never have been. Since he was grouchy and hungry and I knew Indian food would make him happy I suggested Sona, since I had read that it had good Indian food. The lunch that was... More

We visited Sona today. The empty parking lot should have warned us but we thought we can try it. I ordered a "Mughalai" mutter panneer. I had asked for mild to medium and out it came "flaming red", with enormous amounts of chilli powder on it. I asked them to replace it with a mild version, but out it came... More
