This is the place in quaint Old Town Winchester. The food was excellent. I must have had about a pound of fish on my fish & chips. My husband's Shepherd's Pie was truly delicious. We felt like we were back in the UK. Our server, Adam, was awesome. We look forward to visiting there again soon.

I lived in the Winchester area many years ago and at the time the Loudon Street pedestrian mall was not a viable attraction. The wife and I were up there over this past weekend visiting a store in the vicinity and happened to stop by the mall. The mall is much improved and while looking for a place for lunch... More

On a sunny Winchester day, the pub's outdoor seating is perfect for people watching. The pub is located in a beautiful old building. Great beer selection that seems to change frequently. Even a few draft ciders available. Crab cake BLT was very good. The pear salad with grilled salmon was also nice.

Over the course of a dozen visits, this is an inconsistent place regarding attitude and server attention and civility. But my perception is that this is due to the flip sides of the same coin. There's a flippancy and cavalier quality from management, bartender, and waitstaff that can either come across as a this-is-cool and we're-not-in-your-face-too-much and it-all-goes-down-in-here comfortableness OR... Picked up associates from the airport on a Saturday night and came down town for a beer about 12:30 am on our way home. Sat down at the bar and asked if there were any specials. The bartender said there were no specials. We ordered 3 New Castle drafts at $6 a pop. We get our drinks and move to... More

Hello Lauren, I just reread this and realized I should respond. I remember your call, it was roughly 3 months prior to this review being written. When we spoke I did apologize and tell you that I'm sure the bar staff didn't intentionally not tell you about the specials but at that time of night it would have been very... More

This restaurant is located in the historic ‘walking’ mall, which consists of two closed off blocks with many restaurants with side-walk seating. This one caught our eye as we walked past because the Fish and Chips looked great. We weren’t disappointed, food was great. While we had the Fish and Chips the menu offered a nice variety. We sat inside... More

I only had time to visit one restaurant while passing through town on a long trip. I am so glad I chose Union Jack Pub! What drew me were the English items on the menu, plus the historical ambiance. The staff there was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and eager to please. I had a delicious Shepherd's Pie, and Greens Salad with... More

Needing a quick bite to eat and being one who loves British food, we tried this place out. The food was good (I had the Yorkshire Pudding and the Shepherd's Pie) and the portion sizes were very reasonable. Left satisfied, neither hungry nor full. Service was prompt and friendly. My two complaints were about the beer menu: 1) it was... More

This restaurant is a refreshing change to the many franchises and ethnic choices in Winchester. We had the Fish and Chips and the Shepherd's Pie and they were both delicious! We haven't had such god and authentic English Pub food since our visit to the UK. Add to this - a cozy, friendly and buzzing pub atmosphere and the lovely... More
