Never had a bad meal at South of the Border. It might not be as trendy or hard to get into as Plaza Azteca, but the food, service and prices can't be beat. The Margarita's are great too!

Self and three kids had lunch. All enjoyed the experience. Atmosphere is kind of "dumpy", but clean. All our meals were quickly served and tasty. Chips were accompanied by two dips - nice change from the usual salsa. Both were very good. Would go back.

Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. They start out by bringing you out fresh chips, salsa and a bean/queso dip, and all three were incredible. We both had margaritas, and they were giant and delicious. As for the entrees, I had the chicken and beef burritos, so it was one of each, and they were also really... More

Had such a great experience here. Our server promptly brought us free nachos with salsa and queso bean dip for the table (which she refilled also for free). We ordered 2 entrees which arrived very quickly and costed only $19 altogether. The food was amazing and the service was excellent, such a good value!

Our second night in Williamsburg and we tried South Of The Border and really enjoyed it. Authentic Mexican food that was very tasty and even my picky kids ate.

Authentic Mexican cuisine and very affordable. Complimentary fresh chips, homemade salsa and been dip to start. Cheap beer... $6.25 for a pitcher! Food is served on piping hot plates. Staff worked quickly to get our order out. Next time back we'll have to try the humongous margaritas.

My daughter, two grandchildren (ages 15 and 11) and I traveled over 9 hours to get to Williamsburg from northwestern NJ --- thanks to a three-hour traffic delay on US95! When we finally got to our hotel, we were in no mood for fast food or poor service. Our hotel rep recommended "South of the Border" and we just could... More

As part of our family's vacation this year we came to Williamsburg. We ate in a number of chain restaurants but I really fancied something authentic and especially Mexican. After checking Trip Advisor we found South of the Border. A little place that was definitely authentic. Attentive staff and keen to please. I had a fantastic golden margarita and was... More

This is seriously some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Great friendly service. Genuine dishes. Tomales were amazing. Everything from the meet down to the guacamole was superb and authentic. I only wished I had been able to go back several times during our trip.

A unique restaurant to say the least. The service and food was great. We enjoyed the chicken cheese and rice dinner, a triple meat fajita and a child's cheese quesadilla. The portions were ample and the price was very reasonable. We just got home from our trip to Williamsburg and are enjoying the leftovers, so two meals for the price... More
