My wife, son, and I dined here on a busy Saturday evening. We arrived on short notice without reservations, and were seated outside in about 20 minutes. Kudos to the staff for working us in, but the space was a little small for the 3 of us -- the serving staff faced a constant challenge finding room on our small... More

Allow me to share the Blue Talon Bistro menu offering are among the most unique in Williamsburg. The steamed mussels appetizer is fantastic, the lamb the best in the city, ambience galore. It can get a bit crowded & noisy but judging from the clientele, many were requlars who appreciate fine dining. We unfortunately were put off by the seemingly... More

Poor service, and an effort by the waiters to get us through in record times rather spoiled what should have been a better evening. The total time in the restaurant was just over 40 minutes. More waiter training needed. This is all rather a pity as the food was good.

Thanks Alan, Your point is well taken. The staff really wasn't trying to rush you, but we are very consciously making an effort to provide a quality meal in a nice setting but on a timeline that allows our local residents to pop in for a bite rather than having to allow a longer period for dinner. Our staff should... More

My cousin also treated us to the Bistro during our visit. We were able to visit with his daughters as well as enjoy a good dinner.

Met another couple for drinks and dinner to celebrate my husband's upcoming birthday. Drinks were good but almost New York City prices, and the meal was good but overpriced. My ribeye special was in the low $30s and though had good flavor there was a grisly/fatty area with no meat on it at all. My husband's duck was rather dry.... More

There's no excuse on our end for mixing up entrees - though the duck should have been served medium rare - rare, and almost can't be dry, which makes me think we might have overcooked it just a bit? If so, I hope that you would allow us the opportunity to fix that next time. We take that stuff seriously... More

We had the chicken and mushroom crepe for lunch and it was delicious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because our waitress seemed a little uninterested. I'd go again for the food.

I heard so much about this place but it didn't live up to my expectations. The interior is nice and the staff are helpful and friendly but the food was a little on the heavy side. I started to get a salad but was tempted by the blackened fish Reuben on the menu. We got our order pretty quick, but... More

We loved the quirky decor and random Julia Childs dvd playing in the background! The waitress was great and the food, especially the fries -yum!- Although we did find it odd they offered a "Historic Tap Water", we accepted the bottle but never drank it. Hopefully the dark-haired hostess will work on her customer service skills, as she comes across... More

We had breakfast here last Sunday before heading home. My scrabbled eggs-4 large slices of peppered bacon-and these great potato cakes that were whipped mashed potatoes with a dash of sour cream and herbs and then lightly sauted as a patti. Yummy!
