We celebrated our son's graduation from William and Mary at the Fat Canary in May 2014. The restaurant is small, and since graduation took place on Mother's Day weekend, reservations were mandatory. I was able to make reservations by telephone a maximum of 2 months prior to graduation day. We had a party of 6, and I no longer recall... More

The Fat Canary was great. Fantastic menu, preparation and service. Clearly superior to the neighboring establishments.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Canary. Every request we had was greeted with a smile and a thoughtful response. Once the food started coming, we were impressed with everything we ate and we ate a lot. The rabbit, the foie gras, the fettuccine with lobster and ginger ribs were all great starters. Then on to the main event,... More

The food was outstanding - the best we have had in our 3.5 week honeymoon in the us which has included a number of high end gourmet establishments. Every dish we tried (mozzarella, duck prosciutto and salmon) was bursting with flavour and character without the pretentiousness that ruins some fine dining restaurants. The chocolate mousse was to die for and... More

A delicious and memorable meal made with high-quality ingredients. One of us found the menu to be a bit on the pricey side. However, the other one of us thought the pineapple macadamia nut tart was amazing and worth every penny! Go and enjoy!

The Canary is a wonderful modern style destination for foodies in the Williamsburg area. It is close to both the colonial section, the shopping area, and the William and Mary campus. The food is a refreshing difference from the usual options of tourist fare, hotel facilities, and gimmick taverns. The wine selection is varied and the menu options are able... More

Beautifully prepared food, energetic staff, good wine list, fantastic dessert. The whole package. That package comes with a bit of a price, but worth every penny. I had the Seared Foie Gras for starters, followed by a daily special of Rock Fish that was prepared to perfection. My wife had the Seared Tuna Niçoise, followed by the scallops for her... More

We received a gift certificate for the Fat Canary almost a year ago, and kept forgetting about it. Finally, I remembered and made reservations for a "date night" on Friday 08/01/2014, and how glad are we that we did! The restaurant staff called us prior to our arrival to be sure there weren't any celebrations or dietary needs before we... More

Had a delicious dinner. Excellent service. Soft shell crab appetizer, salmon entree. A surprising little gem in historic Williamsburg.
