Menu selections were varied and interesting. Food presentation was beautiful and the taste matched the presentation. They actually called to confirm and then went to the trouble to call back a second time to check on a detail for dinner. The service was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend this restaurant. I've never seen Châteauneuf-du-Pape by the glass (12.00),... More

Best option is to get a seat at the bar. You will probably have small wait, but it is worth it. Once there, David and Neil will introduce you to those sitting to either side of you. Land then a wonderful evening begins. The menu is the same as in the restaurant seating area, so you have not given up... More

The food is very well prepared but the main dining room can be a little tight so you have to select your table with a little care. The food is very fresh and well seasoned and by Williamsburg standards this is a good special occasion place.

We ate here on our recent trip to Williamsburg. It came highly recommended and it was exceptional! We all had the Manakintowne Salad, salmon, scallops and rockfish. The dishes were beautifully presented and all were prepared to our liking. Wines were recommended according to individual tastes and we all liked what our waiter suggested. My daughter requires Gluten Free selections... More

Food was amazing and definitely lived up to all the great things we've heard of this place. Service was extremely friendly and down to earth (none of the pretentious yuppie staff you sometimes find at nice restaurants). Huge wine and spirit selection with a smaller "farm to table" local ingredient menu that hit a broad range of flavors. The duck... More

We tried the “Fat Canary” after reading the reviews in Tripadvisor and it was very good. We will not be going back however because the food is very heavily infused with fat and butter. That gives the food an exceptional taste but it also gives those of us who do not use butter at home a real stomach ache afterwards.... More

The restaurant is small, intimate and easy to pass, just off main street in old town Williamsburg. There is a nice large patio our front that is shared with their cheese shop next door. I reserved seats in advance and noted that this was a special occasion for and intimate celebration for my son and I. The food and service... More

Dined with family and everything was excellent. Very attentive to daughter's food allergy. Rockfish special was amazing. My son had the lamb shank and devoured it. Wine recommendations were spot on. Love this place and will visit every time we visit our daughter

We celebrated our son's graduation from William and Mary at the Fat Canary in May 2014. The restaurant is small, and since graduation took place on Mother's Day weekend, reservations were mandatory. I was able to make reservations by telephone a maximum of 2 months prior to graduation day. We had a party of 6, and I no longer recall... More

The Fat Canary was great. Fantastic menu, preparation and service. Clearly superior to the neighboring establishments.
