I was taken to the Fat Canary for my birthday. They first tried to seat us in a corner between a wall and another table. We had had reservations for a long time and they finally agreed to place us at another table for two in the middle of the floor between the banquettes. During my two hours there, my... More

THE FAT CANARY is everything that you'd expect in a fine dining establishment: hard to get reservations, dimly lit, and crowded. Like meeting new friends? You will literally rub elbows, there. Knowing this, THE FAT CANARY delivers an atmosphere that is trite and simple, making it a conventional restaurant that will leave you remembering how much you've spent, but not... More

Had reservations for my daughter's birthday. It was our first time at Fat Canary which is located right next to a wonderful cheese shop. The restaurant is very unsuspecting but once you get seated and greeted by one of the wonderful staff you realize you are in for a real treat. Our party ordered one of the specials with halibut... Went there for anniversary. It was perfect. Hadn't been there in 8 years. Was just as good as we remembered. The scallops are great and the tenderloin perfect. Finish it off with the chocolate mousse. This is a can't miss. Make a reservation.

We did not know quite what to expect but we found this one of the best dinners we have had in a long time. The atmosphere is lovely and warm, but it is the food that really stands out. The fried oysters and foie gras appetizers were perfect. They were done just right and the combinations of flavors were terrific.... More

The hostesses and servers were welcoming. I had the halibut which was perfectly cooked and garnished with crab meat. My wife had scalloped which were perfectly cooked. The fried oysters could not have been more lightly battered. This was not greasy southern cooking. The ambiance was bright without being noisy. A perfect place to finish away from the tourists.

We shared our special occasion at the Fat Canary. This was our first dining experience at this establishment. The hostess, Lynn, and the entire wait staff could not have been more attentive and friendly. Nick was our server and was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. We began the meal with the homemade bread which was very good. We shared... More

Austere but comfortable atmosphere, superb bartenders who are cocktail-crafters, not drink-slingers. Had the veal shank (other-worldly) and the duck (perfect med. rare meat, but not cooked long enough on the skin side, which was softish rather than crisp). Excellent veg. All of the prep and fussing that goes into this lovely food is going to cost you; dinner for two... More

Celebrated our anniversary here. They treated us very well and made us feel special. The food was delicious. Some items you don't find often made it even better for those fellow foodies. Worth the price.

We read reviews before reserving here, and we had a few concerns going in, especially since some suggested that this place was over-rated. I don't agree. Every aspect of our meal was superb. Veal shank top notch. Quail out of this world. Rabbit fabulous. Server wonderfully attentive. And the bill was not out of this world.
