Love to visit, love to grab a Cheese sandwich on french bread...excellent. Also love to shop and take home cheese and other fun things they offer in the store. (They have much more than cheese, think of it as a deli). If you are shopping in Williamsburg proper take the time to stop in. Fun place.

Spent a fall weekend in Williamsburg which would not be complete without grabbing lunch at the Cheese Shop in Merchant's Square. We hit the end of a Farmer's Market which was delightful with a wide variety of goods then we stopped in here for sandwiches. Delicious! I always get lured into their lunch special so haven't really explored the menu... More

We were here twice because we liked sitting out on their patio with a beer and a cheese plate. There were so many different cheeses to choose from, and we wish the woman who had waited on us was a little more patient. She rushed us when we were picking out our cheeses, and we didn't know if we'd like... More

This is adjacent to the Fat Canary on the town square. They do lunch sandwiches and cheeses and drinks. The fat Canary does dinner. You can sit inside at the bar, outside in the square or on the side in a heated seating area. The selection of sandwiches is good as are the cheeses. Which you may want to buy... More

By the Bag-of-Ends for just ONE DOLLAR hanging in a basket back where they make the sandwiches. This contains the ends of the fresh loaves of bread they bake daily for sandwiches! Mostly french but some wheat varieties. Munch on these delicous CHUNKS OF HEAVEN while they make your sandwich but SHARE sandwiches!! The ends will fill you up and... More

This is our favorite after-church spot on Sundays. Sandwiches are always fresh -- either on French bread or whole wheat French bread. The bread, sliced on a huge bias, is always fresh with a nice crunchy crust and soft middle. The star of their sandwiches, in addition to the high-quality meats, is the house dressing! The place is crowded and... More

We stop here every time we are in town. My wife loves it. And I like it too but the fight to find a table outside is for the birds. Or should I say for the yellow jackets. Despite attempts to put out traps for the bees they are still everywhere. The food is good but I am not sure... More

The Cheese Shop is the go to place any time of the day or early evening. In the morning many gather for wonderful Illy coffee and either the delicious ham biscuits or coffee cake. The sandwiches start appearing and are too good to pass up. Many pick up wine by the glass, or it is available by the bottle with... More
