Great place to grab a bite and very reasonable prices. Food was excellent. Tables are outside and numerous. Refills of drinks were free (not the wine).

Sandwiches tasted good, but service was slow on a busy weekend, and they were very expensive. You can buy a wide variety of cheeses, but some were upwards of $22/pound. This felt like a place that was looking to gouge tourists.

Yummo. We so enjoyed our made to order cheese plate, olives, and wine stop on Sunday, that we returned for lunch on Monday. Absolutely delicious sandwiches and GIANT chocolate chip cookies. We were throughly pleased with the food and friendly employees. A must stop in Colonial Williamsburg.

Absolutely delicious sandwich. Fresh, rare roast beef with cheddar & oven-roasted tomatoes on French bread. Their "special sauce" is so good we bought a jar. The only downside............very small sandwich for the price...............we were still hungry.

I wish we could say we keep going back because of the history but being foodies we really do go back just for The Cheese Shop. We've been going there for over 10 years and can never say we've had a bad sandwich. Love their cheese selection and we're addicted to the house dressing.

I am a local and we go here a lot. My wife loves it. On our visit last weekend, the food was still good but the customer service was disappointing. I requested a ham salad sandwich from the chalkboard menu. I was advised they were out of it. So I ordered chicken salad instead, not what I wanted, but was... More

When in Williamsburg eat at the Cheese Shop at least once. Great sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I usually make a habit of visiting the Wythe Candy and Gourmet Shop in Merchant's Square which happens to be right next door to the Cheese Shop. We decided to poke our head in on our most recent trip and were pleasantly surprised to find all manner of goodies. We settled on purchasing some sea salt crackers... More

We always make a stop here while in Williamsburg! The store is very tiny so expect a crowd and a wait. But it is worth it! The Virginia ham is the best! It can be tough to secure a table outside, so it is best for one person to scout a table while the other one gets the sandwiches.
