Average Food and Service

Clean, well maintained restaurant. Wide variety of menu choices. Service is friendly but a little slow and not always attentive; but, when asked for something they will get it for you. Food quality is average. We were there for lunch and found the food passable but we will no go back.

Everyone knows that pancakes are pretty cheap food items. Bacon isn't cheap, but it isn't prime rib either. My dad, brother and I went to breakfast here. We each had pancakes and bacon and either coffee or juice. The bill was $50. Before tip. The food was good. We really enjoyed ourselves, but 3 people for $50?? No way! We'll... More

There are a bunch of pancake houses in Williamsburg but this place has the best flavor! My adult son and my husband were doing their best to eat at all the pancake houses. While we love them all, this one has the best tasting pancakes.

The restaurant has a pleasant colonial/modern style and the waitresses are in costume, but, beyond that, nothing seemed all that special about breakfast. This was the off season, so there was nobody else in the restaurant to see what special meals were being offered. I wanted to try their chipped beef and biscuits but was informed that they ran out... Mama Steve's is a great spot for breakfast. The old fashioned décor, gingham uniforms of waitresses and their warmth (as well as the well prepared food) made this the best place for breakfast that I have experienced for a long time. The family hospitality and atmosphere made us feel relaxed and welcome. Try the sausage from Surry, VA and the... More

We stopped there about an hour before they closed (around 1pm) and our server seemed distraught by our late arrival in her booth; pancake houses close around 1 or 2 pm. The pancakes we had were ok, nothing special. Maybe they are better earlier in the day. Seemed it took a long time to get refills, which we had to... More
