The restaurant has a pleasant colonial/modern style and the waitresses are in costume, but, beyond that, nothing seemed all that special about breakfast. This was the off season, so there was nobody else in the restaurant to see what special meals were being offered. I wanted to try their chipped beef and biscuits but was informed that they ran out... Mama Steve's is a great spot for breakfast. The old fashioned décor, gingham uniforms of waitresses and their warmth (as well as the well prepared food) made this the best place for breakfast that I have experienced for a long time. The family hospitality and atmosphere made us feel relaxed and welcome. Try the sausage from Surry, VA and the... More

We stopped there about an hour before they closed (around 1pm) and our server seemed distraught by our late arrival in her booth; pancake houses close around 1 or 2 pm. The pancakes we had were ok, nothing special. Maybe they are better earlier in the day. Seemed it took a long time to get refills, which we had to... More

This was a nice family owned breakfast restaurant. I like to visit those to get a break from the chains. It did not disappoint. I could hear others in the restaurant thoroughly enjoying their food as well.

A very nice pancake restaurant that has been in Williamsburg, Va. since 1968. That is the same year I came to Virginia to start my Navy A school experience. The staff is very pleasant and very attentive. The coffee is wonderful as well. Great for breakfast and lunch it seems always crowded with families and friends. Convenient location right on... More

Don't let the appearance fool you, food is average for a independent restaurant. Not real sure that they don't serve you frozen food. Service leaves a lot to desire.

A quick and easy breakfast stop. Easy in and out parking. Staff is friendly. Coffee was very good. Food actually was good. The price was average for a tourist location.

Every visit to Williamsburg for our family includes a breakfast at Mama Steve's. This time we got to introduce our son in law to our favorite breakfast spot, and he agreed with us: Mama Steve's is first rate! I had my "usual," if you can say you have a usual at a restaurant where you only eat once every year... More

For anyone who's ever been to Colonial Williamsburg knows, the surrounding area is well populated by pancake houses. My wife and I spent the weekend for the Grand Illumination in Colonial Williamsburg which was wonderful. On Monday morning, we elected to skip the national chains (Ihop, Denny's etc), and have breakfast at one of the local places, Mama Steve's Pancake... More
