I was the one who wanted to go to Mama Steves because of the name. Ok...I am a big enough man to admit my mistake. Established in 1968. Based by the speed of the service, I guess they are still cooking on the original stove and using the original wait staff. The hostess sat us in one area specifically stating... more
The name is intriguing – Kind of a gimmick. The service was good and attentive, the Restaurant was clean enough. The pancakes tasted like ordinary pancakes. The omelets were average. Overall this felt like a glorified diner- so nothing special. more
My family and I visted Williamsburg this year. We got real excited about our food at Mama Steve's House of Pancakes. The combination of the Super 8 and this restaurant's pancakes made our trip fun! I recommend it for all! more
What can I say about Mama Steve's that hasn't already been said about a Christian-based heaven? The pancakes are fluffy like buttermilk cumulonimbus, the sausages are little links of palpable love, and the French Toast is so good, they should call it French To..my GOD, what is this glorious food? Sept 28, '07 Stopped for mid-morning breakfast. Was really pretty good, especially the pancakes. Good middle-market prices. Mens' restroom was a notch below standard. (I've seen better restrooms at Interstate McDonalds, if that tells you anything!) Don't be put off and not try it. It's not a tourist trap, it's just a good, average place for breakfast. Plus, it was... more

It was clean, the service was adequate, the wait staff was quaintly dressed, the menu was a little limited and it was... more
The waitress was very nice. The place was clean. The food was breakfast. I mean it wasnt horrible and it wasnt the best breakfast ever. If my hotel was next door I would eat there again. I would not drive out of my way though but if I was near it I would go. more
Went there on July 13, 2007 expecting some delicious pancakes as was noted by some patrons. However, we waited over 1/2 hour for service and when we finally received our food we were very disappointed. The bacon was overcooked, the pancakes were heavy and dense and the home fries were disgusting. As someone else mentioned, there was no warm syrup.... more
The menu was limited, the service fair. When we left, a time share guy accosted us in the parking lot, he would not take NO for an answer. I told my hubby to pull back into the lot, I was going to tell the hostess at Mama and Steve's the guy was 'bothering' their patrons as they left their restaurant.... more
