Worth the short walk from Merchants Square

You always get good food and generous portions at Aromas, which is only a block from Merchants Square. It can get crowded, so it is probably better to go mid-morning or mid-afternoon. The Merchants Square restaurants have more limited menus and are more expensive.

We had lunch there on a gloomy weekday in early April and it was packed. But the wait was short and we found a table for 3 right away. Nice soup and sandwich lunch options. I'm sure it has great coffee and breakfast options, too. You wait in line to order, pick up you meal when called, and bus your... More

Went for a cup of tea and a pastry. Tea was served hot and it was free leaf tea, delicious. pastries were not up to standard, could still taste the flour in them. They also are known for their Apple Pie. Well no thanks, more like a bitter mouthful of cinamon.

Stopped in after an evening concert in the Art museum's auditorium. They had a nice selection of dessert items in the case from which I chose the Lemon Berry Marscapone cake. It was delicious. Light and refreshing. Their decaf coffee was very good also. It was open mike night so we got entertained also during our brief visit. We didn't... More

On a recent trip to Williamsburg, I had the chance to stop into Aromas twice. Both times the place was crowded, packed. Both times the person behind the counter was pleasant and attentive. The line moved very quickly, my order was produced in a timely fashion. Both times I was able to find seating for three inside. If you have... More

Thanks so much, Elaine....appreciate your comments and hope to see you again! We love children, too, though, have a small kids menu, highchairs and outside patio in the back if the crowd feels overwhelming....but we do recognize that our spot is small...!! :) More

Pretty good place to sip coffee and to enjoy delicious desert. White chocolate cake with blueberries is particularly tasty! Plus Aromas attracts with its casual and at the same time cosy atmosphere.
