Old Fashioned Dining

This is a very old restaurant in Norfolk that has become an icon. Very gentleman club decor yet frequented by families, couples, and groups. The steaks are amazing and the service is exquisite.

liked the food, it seems they are trying to make you think you are in a Manhattan restaurant. It just seems to stiff for us. the prices were waaay too much for our taste...food was good.

Great prime rib and steaks. A consistently excellent steak and seafood. Reservations are suggested for the weekend. Service is good as well.

The atmosphere reads 80's steakhouse, the servers were helpful and mostly pleasant, but once you taste your first bite of the Prime Rib you forget everything else around you. Melts. In. Your. Mouth! The garlic mash were just okay, but everything else was delicious. Glad we had a coupon for 2 meals from our hotel, as the prices were high.... More

I have to agree with with a previous review, the place is different. The wait staff is very formal and service is excellent but the barn theme seemed somewhat outdated and in need of up dating. In my opinion, the food was average and a bit overpriced. I had the NY strip steak and my wife had a surf &... More

I had prime rib medium rare. It melted in my mouth with every bite. The service was perfect. We had a very experienced waitress who knew when to check on us, gave us good tips, and was pleasant to talk with. The atmosphere could be updated, but the food was perfection. It was expensive, but the meal was worth it.

This place struck me as odd as the wait staff all were wearing dress slacks, shirts and silk vest. Which is great, but not in a decor setting of a barn. Wagon wheel lights and gardening tools mounted to the walls just seemed no the place for the fancy waiters. My wife and I had a dinner for 2 deal that... More

This place was great. Excellent food, steaks cooked just the way you ask, very friendly service and wonderful mixed drinks. The only negative I can think of is that it was a little dim lighting in the evening, but nothing the cell phone cant fix. Food was so good. We will be back!

Food was okay, nothing particularly impressive. Service was average. Atmosphere was very 1970s steakhouse -- you expected Alice and Sam the Butcher (from the Brady Bunch) to be there having a date. Not a must go, can probably find better.

Aberdeen Barn looks as if it could be any 1980s era steak house. We had a very good meal, but there were so few customers and so few servers in the place it was a bit depressing. I guess this is off-season in Williamsburg, so maybe the place will make a comeback this summer.
