The "Old Chickahominy House" restaurant off Jamestown Road is where the "locals" go. I should know - I have been going there since the 80's and my parents started going in the early 70's. First - it is a tightly run establishment with many of the same crew working there for years. It only serves breakfast and lunch but most... More

You have to go in just to find out what it means. The fare is pleasant and service informal. It was our first experience of grits - ha, not sure that's one for the recipe book!

My wife & I make this a "must stop" every time we vacation in Williamsburg, VA. The old house is just that: an old house. They serve breakfast and lunch... and close up and go home - so you've got to get there early. We called for reservations. The food is simple... very Colonial. We went for lunch and got... More

We love this restaurant and go a few times a month. The Milenda's special is awesome! The Brunswick stew is always piping hot, the ham on the biscuits is delicious country (salted) ham and the pies are the die for. You can't go wrong with this restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Just get there before they close (no dinner service).... More

I have been coming here for many years and the food is always fresh, the service is prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere of an old southern house is unique. Their biscuits are just wonderful! A little ways away from Colonial Williamsburg but worth it.

Classic southern food. One of the best places for breakfast and lunch in the Williamsburg area! Pleasant, light atmosphere, generally quiet, good food. Menu and staff are considerate of gluten free/grain free diets. We always have at least one breakfast here every trip to Williamsburg. And the attached gift shop...WOW! Cracker Barrel is pedantic; Chickahominy House has unique pieces, often... More

This is a place I've been going to for years and have yet to be disappointed. Great Brunswick Stew and ham biscuits. The coconut cream pie alone is worth the visit. If you have to wait for a table, there is a nice gift shop in which to browse.

This is a great restaurant for breakfast and/or lunch. We first ate there I estimate was about 40 years ago and it has always been very good. Also, it sells various items such as would be found in a Cracker Barrel Restaurant, but better quality. This is true Southern cooking, so loosen the belt and ENJOY.

Good food--especially lunch and breakfast/brunch (they don't serve dinner). Classic southern dishes, like chicken and dumplings or ham biscuits (although the biscuits are thinner than I like them). By all means, have the pie! Often a bit of a wait, but the service is good once you're seated. The gift shop is good way to kill time waiting to be... More
