Breakfast

This was on our list of places to visit in Williamsburg. We arrived about 9:15 and only had to wait about 10 minutes for seating. Coffee was really good. Grits were good and my cheese eggs were good. My friend had the plantation breakfast and although his eggs were a little overdone, he enjoyed... read more

We stopped here for lunch after reading some of the reviews here on Tripadvisor. So glad we did! It's a small, somewhat crowded house turned restaurant/gift shop. I would think it could get very busy, but we lucked out and only had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Limited menu, but great choices! Southern fare- ham and biscuits, stews,... More

Up front, my family and I are not big on the salty Virginia style ham. We were invited for breakfast and the food was just okay. If we were fans of grits and salty ham we would likely have been fans of the food. Even the hot cakes were just okay. The service, however, was excellent and one of the... More

If you do not mind cats in the dining room and elsewhere this will be ok for you. Cat hairs in the air. The food was bland but the service was great.

Food and atmosphere were great. Slightly limited selection but it's tough to find a bad item. The biscuits are fantastic.

We had tried a few years back to have lunch here on our way to Historic Jamestowne. Unfortunately, we ended up there during the hour that they shut down between breakfast and lunch and we decided not to wait. This year we timed it right and were so happy to enjoy a lovely meal! I think we ordered something called... More

Enjoyed very much. Had a traditional Virginia meal - country ham biscuit, Brunswick stew, and sweet tea. Great food and service.

We visited for lunch on a weekday. My husband and I each got one of the specials. Each had a salad and a ham biscuit which consisted of salty Virginia ham and a flat cracker almost biscuit. My husband's came with a soup which was fabulous. My meal had chicken and dumplings which was equally as good. Both lunches we're... More

We had been told we HAD to have breakfast at Old Chickahominy House. The breakfast options were very limited - eggs with Virginia ham, eggs with bacon, eggs with sausage, eggs with cheese, all of the above, or creamed ham over toast (the local version of military-grade S,O,S.). The scrambled eggs were overcooked, so I was really hoping their unique... More

This restaurant and antique shop was a perfect addition to our historic trip to Williamsburg. The chicken salad was the best I've ever eaten anywhere! The iced tea was tasty, as was the rest of the meal. And the wonderful antique shop had many great items to good to resist.
