Very small parking area. Luckily there was room on the side of the street. Older southern style home. We walked in around 11:30 AM and the place was packed with people waiting to be seated. The tables and chairs are packed in normal sized 10 x 12, 12 x 15 rooms. Very noisy. Lunch is simple - brunswick stew or... More

First time at OCH. A friend of my husband's recommended it as she used to live in the area. Everything about this was pleasant. Went for breakfast. Seated promptly and everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. Waitress checked back several time for coffee refills. Breakfast was VERY good! Eggs were cooked to perfection. The pancakes were... More

Quaint restaurant with a unique gift shop that is off the main streets full of pancake houses. A favorite of local residents who like their signature drinks and focused menus. Definitely worth a try for a different experience than a chain restaurant.

The model used by Cracker Barrel--but Home cooked food at cheap prices, with a gift store inside the same dwelling. It closes at 3pm so get there early. 3 course meal for $10+. Home made biscuits, different than the norm. a small fruit placed on some lettuce, Smithfield ham which is normally salty, beverage and a slice of pie. It... More

They have a great and varied gift shop at very reasonable prices. For me the ham biscuits were dry and the ham sparse. Salty, though. We had Brunswick stew which was ok but then it is not one of my favs. The place itself is an old house made into a restaurant. We were there as a group with no... More

We stopped here on our way home from OBX and were not disappointed. It's essentially a house made into a restaurant with a great little gift shop. The service was fast and friendly. The good was good. ..LOVE the pancakes. The biscuits weren't what I was expecting and were a little dry for me but I think it's just a... More

This is the place to eat genuine old-south breakfast in a very old-south environment. The hospitality is southern, the decoration, the staff are very friendly. Good food and a cultural excursion in one.

6 of us met here to celebrate 2 Birthdays and all were happy! We were a little early so shopped while we waited and found a few items on their sale table we had to have! Melinda the house cat was resting by the cash register. Then it was lunch time. Service from all was outstanding. The food was wonderful... More
