A taste of good country cooking

We stopped for a quick lunch on our way to Jamestown Settlement. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was well prepared and presented, and delicious as well. I had the Miss Melinda's Special, my wife had the Deluxe Hamburger Plate, my daughter had a cup of Chicken Soup. They even provided... read more

Stopped for lunch with a party of four. At first, we liked the historic atmosphere but this first impression disappeared quickly with the slow service and disappointing meals. The Miss Melinda's Special started off with a tasteless fruit salad made from canned fruit. This was followed by an awful Brunswick stew and small very dry biscuits with thin, very salty... More

We loved this place. Breakfast was just the right size and southern. Menu is small but had something for everyone. It's not about the garnish, just good food. We even bought a print that was hanging above our table! The other side of the "house" has a small store with random items for sale. Will be back for food and... More

We went for an amazingly good lunch and had to return for breakfast several days later. The restaurant is on one of the roads leading to Jamestown Settlement and is only about 6-7 minutes away. We went to te Settlement then to lunch then back to Historic Jamestown. The hama nd bisquits are awesome and the desserts were exceptional as... More

I always enjoy Miss Melissa for lunch. The staff here is so friendly and nice. Unique gift shop is a bonus. The good thing is dessert is included! Must visit if you are in the area

We had breakfast at the Chickahominy House on the morning of our departure from Williamsburg. Breakfast was delightful, scrambled eggs perfectly prepared, ham and biscuits. The only missing was a bowl of fruit. I have visited this special spot for years and make it a regular stop when in Williamsburg.

We got to restaurant 1/2 hour before breakfast service stopped but the host welcomed us warmly and seated us. We placed our orders and were quickly served. Our drinks were quickly replenished by a friendly, happy waitress. Unfortunately we were rushed to eat quickly especially by another server who made a comment to my sister. My sister did not finish... More

The atmosphere is wonderful. The service is excellent. VERY limited menu, pre made grits and frozen biscuits, dry ham were a huge disappointment. Pancakes, eggs and bacon very good.
