Old Virginia Dining

Went to the Old Chickahominy House for lunch. My wife and I go have been going there for 40+ years. We love the Miss Melinda special that comes with a fruit salad, Brunswick stew, two Smithfield ham biscuits and a slice of homemade pie. If you wanted something else they had chicken and dumplings... read more

We had a great lunch with a group. The seating was close but it worked. Everyone agreed in my group that the food was good. We had sandwiches or Brunswick stew.

Took our family here for lunch during a recent trip. Enjoyed the Brunswick stew and biscuits. The sweet tea was as southern as they come. Make sure you save some room for pie. Also, liked looking at the gifts for sale around the shop. Definitely a southern hospitality place not to be missed on your trip.

Breakfast for the three of us contained all the standard food items of a substantial morning meal: eggs, pancakes, cured ham, sausage, bacon, grits, biscuits, butter & jelly. The meats were expertly prepared using the best of ingredients, biscuits were flat not puffy -- unusual and tasty. The menu listed Brunswick stew and other southern dishes for lunch and dinner... We love the food here as well as the dining experience. It is a step back in time with the food being authentic to the colonial period. We eat here every time we go to Williamsburg without fail.

There is a sense of stepping back in time when you go to the Old Chickahominy House. This is accentuated by the fact that you enter the restaurant through an antique store, which comprises half of the building. The dining rooms have a quirky charm. The straight back chairs that creek when you sit in them have a certain old... More

We were driving through Williamsburg and wanted to stop for lunch. We saw the menu online and were in the mood for some southern cooking. We got the special which included ham biscuits, Brunswick stew or chicken and dumplings, small fruit salad, tea and desert for $10.95. The ham biscuits were tasty and chicken and dumplings were great. My son... More

We never skip a visit to this wonderful little place whenever we are in Williamsburg. It is not fancy, but, the food is GREAT, the service is EXCELLENT and you always feel like you had a meal at grandmas when you are done.
