After visiting Williamsburg on many trips, my wife and I make it a point to have lunch at Old Chickahominy House. WHAT A SURPRISE WAS IN STORE FOR US. This must have been a revised receipt. Poor flavor. Thick with bagged vegetables and very little meat(chicken), Just plain awful. We will not return. Try the CARROT TREE.

We stopped here for lunch with friends during our visit to Williamsburg & we just loved the entire experience. Our server was a wonderful southern lady named Virginia. She is truly a national treasure & we all absolutely love her with all our hearts. The place is brimming with southern hospitality that helped us feel the charm & character of... More

It took me half-a-century to follow-up on a friend's enthusiastic recommendation to visit this restaurant, even though I'd been to Williamsburg on a number of intervening occasions. It's not in an especially inconvenient location. However, neither is it in any of the standard tourist neighborhoods. But it's certainly worth going slightly out of one's way to get to. The building... More

Have heard about the Chickahominy House for years and finally had the opportunity to lunch there. We knew it would be crowded on a beautiful autumn Saturday so arrived half hour prior to the earliest seating and still had a wait of an hour and a half. Actually enjoyed the wait time perusing their unique gift shop. The management wisely... More

They"ve got the worst Bruswick stew I've ever eaten...The Campbell soup company would have put them to shame. The lunch is very overprice. They start off with a can peach with some sort of cheap cream...very tacky and tasteless. They guard the low grade Brunswick stew as if the Queen England had made it. This restaurant is design for people... More

Step back in time when dining at the Old Chickahominy House. It is located in a tavern-style building right off Jamestown Rd. The food is simple, but served by attentive waitstaff. Limited menu helps them control the cost and quality. Loved every bite of my ham biscuits, brunswick stew, fruit salad, tea, and slice of pie! While you wait, browse... More

Same menu as when I first visited in 1975 with little change in price. Not anything fancy, just good home cooking. Wonderful ham biscuits and pies to die for!

This was a "must stop" on our visit to Williamsburg, VA! We enjoyed our visit so much, we had to go back! The Brunswick stew and ham and biscuit...yummy...the stew was sooo good, we had to ask for refills...and the service couldn't have been better! They also have a nice gift shop you can spend at least an hour in.

The Old Chickahominy House used to be an antiques store that had a family style dining area serving lunch. Now it's more of a knick-knack store serving breakfast, lunch and doing some catering. The family style seating is in one room only with regular tables in another two rooms. We ordered Miss Melinda's Special; fruit salad, Brunswick Stew, ham biscuits... More

Friends who know the Williamsburg area well took us to the Old Chickahominy House for brunch. It seems like you are stepping into history when you arrive. The menu for breakfast is typical southern from salty ham to grits, but they serve a flatter, rectangular biscuit that I'd never seen before. If you have to wait for a table, there... More
