Sal’s by Victor is a family run restaurant specialized in both southern and northern Italian cuisine. We’ve been serving Williamsburg and the surrounding areas since 1974. The restaurant was originally founded by Salvatore (Sal) who named the restaurant after himself. In 1990 Victor acquired the business from Sal and decided to keep the name, while at the same time giving the “by Victor” touch.Chef Vittorio Minichiello (Victor) was raised on a farm in Mirabella Eclano, in the Avellino region of Italy. He studied food arts at the Culinary Institute of Summonte Italia and has worked in some of the finest eateries in Europe, including La Cheminee in Paris, Giardino da Bruno in Rimini and Partenio in Naples.Today, he is a member of the Italian Chef’s Association and brings his world-class expertise to Williamsburg. Our Most Famous Dish is “Cavatoni alla Capri” together with our famous “New York Style Pizza”. We have been voted as the Virginia Gazette’s “Best in Williamsburg” for Best Italian Restaurant since 1996.After the 2009 fire the restaurant remodeled and enlarged with hand chosen artwork from Italian artists, capturing the beauty of the Italian vistas and creating a small slice of the old country here in Williamsburg.Sal’s by Victor’s mission is to treat all our “customers” as our guests and to make sure they leave the restaurant with a smile on their faces and a full stomach. We take complaints very seriously and always demand that our staff provide the best experience possible for our guests. We firmly believe that there is no better advertisement than a positive experience conveyed via word of mouth.

We wanted some pizza, and after reading reviews online decided to try Sal's by Victor and we were not disappointed. we stopped for lunch and had meatlovers pizza and calamari as an appetizer. Calamari were nice and flavorful, and didn't have a lot of breading, which was nice. The pizza was good as well, we ordered large one and still... More

This is a must go to place if you are in the Williamsburg, VA area. The restaurant was clean and loved the decor. Our server Amy was fantastic! She knew the menu very well and answered all of our questions. She brought our food fast and we never had an empty glass. The food was the best and the cheapest... More

We ordered pizza and some pasta and the food was very good, very fast and reasonably priced. We have children and they enjoyed it too. It was close by our hotel. I would recommend this place to families. We did take out but they have a large facility and appear to do a lot of catering as well.

We chose Sal's based on a recommendation from Powhatan Resort staff and we were not disappointed! While we just did take out of a Pepperoni Pizza it ranks up there with the best Pepperoni Pizza I've ever had. Crust was crisp on the bottom, not too much sauce, perfect amount of cheese! And conveniently I was able to order via... More

Nice restaurant. But you can get the same food quality at Olive Garden a lot more reasonably priced.

After a long day seeing the sites, my daughter and I wanted a nice meal but didn't want to have to leave our hotel. The front desk recommended Sal's, so we gave it a try. We got a pizza and a pasta dish. The pizza was perfectly cooked and not greasy. The pasta dish which was fettuccine with chicken, sun... More

We were staying at one of the resorts and after all of that shopping we were exhausted and just wanted to go back and rest, and then we though of ordering for the crew. We ordered one large pizza and piles of spaghetti with garlic bread on the side. Due to the in climate weather it really made our stay... More

Went there as a party of 14, when I saw the crowds I thought the place must be really good. Left without being impressed. I had a Calzone, first I've ever had served without sauce or ricotta cheese. Edible, but ehh. GF order spaghetti which she said was good. We both had "sangria" , red wine with a slice of... More

Dear guest, Thank you for the review and the three stars. Our calzone comes with ricotta cheese inside and is served with a side of tomato sauce (as also specified on our menu). We can absolutely accept that you find our food not special, and we respect your opinion, even if we don’t share it, as many other people, but... More

Pretty above average Italian food for Virginia. Nice service, good food and good portions. We would recommend this restaurant over any chain.
