Description: Sal’s by Victor is a family run restaurant specialized in both southern and northern Italian cuisine. We’ve been serving Williamsburg and the surrounding areas since 1974. The restaurant was originally founded by Salvatore (Sal) who named the restaurant after himself. In 1990 Victor acquired the business from Sal and decided to keep the name, while at the same time giving the “by Victor” touch.Chef Vittorio Minichiello (Victor) was raised on a farm in Mirabella Eclano, in the Avellino region of Italy. He studied food arts at the Culinary Institute of Summonte Italia and has worked in some of the finest eateries in Europe, including La Cheminee in Paris, Giardino da Bruno in Rimini and Partenio in Naples.Today, he is a member of the Italian Chef’s Association and brings his world-class expertise to Williamsburg. Our Most Famous Dish is “Cavatoni alla Capri” together with our famous “New York Style Pizza”. We have been voted as the Virginia Gazette’s “Best in Williamsburg” for Best Italian Restaurant since 1996.After the 2009 fire the restaurant remodeled and enlarged with hand chosen artwork from Italian artists, capturing the beauty of the Italian vistas and creating a small slice of the old country here in Williamsburg.Sal’s by Victor’s mission is to treat all our “customers” as our guests and to make sure they leave the restaurant with a smile on their faces and a full stomach. We take complaints very seriously and always demand that our staff provide the best experience possible for our guests. We firmly believe that there is no better advertisement than a positive experience conveyed via word of mouth.

We had no idea the restaurant was as big and busy as it turned out to be. The kids ordered pizza and the adults ordered veal parma and linguine with clam sauce. Salads were included with the entrees. Everything was delicious! I was going to share my veal, but I ate it all before it could be shared. Servings were... More

OK so start I got the sangria and it was delicious to start off my drink. Mozzarella sticks for the kids were good but the fried ravioli were awesome. Then I got the chicken vegetable soup which followed the apps by being good and tastie. Kids shared a pizza which is home made and the kids loved it. Wife got... More

We visited Sal's with a large party including several children. They brought drinks and bread right away to keep the children occupied while we were waiting for our main dishes. The food was outstanding - hot and fresh. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I want to call particular attention to the service provided by Maria, who was attentive, conscientious, and checked... More

We decided to try to order food instead of eating out at a restaurant since we were so tired from a long day of traveling and sightseeing. It was our first night in Williamsburg. The nice thing is that Sal's does deliver right to your hotel room. The bad thing is they tell you to expect an hour for delivery,... More

Dear Guests, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I'm glad you liked our mozzarella sticks (and sorry that you didn't find our pizza to be amazing) Our average delivery time is one hour. We deliver on a first come first served basis, so your geographic location doesn't always mean that your order will be there... More

We have eaten here before with mixed service but the food is good but not hot. We waited over an hour for food, got warm food, and not great service recovery from the manager. I don't think we will be back unless we her that the service has improved.

Dear Meredith, thank you for your review. We apologize again for the bad experience at our restaurant. As manager Elio mentioned that evening, we were unusually busy that evening due to the poor weather conditions. We weren't expecting such bad weather, so we caught unprepared by the thunderstorm. All our food is made from scratch and cooked to order so... More

On my first visit to Sal's I had arrabiatta sauce for the first time: both food and service were outstanding! I will try to make the sauce at home in RI, and search in RI's many Italian restaurants. Whether I find a great sauce or not, I plan to visit Williamsburg again as soon as I can, mainly for the... More

We were visiting Williamsburg for the weekend and decided to eat at Sal's our first night. We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday and were told that it was a 20-25 minute wait. They have a nice sitting area located outside and it was a pleasant enough night. After only 15 minutes, our table was ready. Service during the meal... More

My sisters and I went to Sal's for a late lunch early dinner. We were immediately seated. Our waier, Antonio was very attentive. We ordered chicken tenders with fries for our youngest family member. A large pizza with pepperoni, onion, green peppers and mushrooms, fried calimari, clams and linguine and chicken Parmesan. All of food was served piping hot. You... More
