We tried to reserve a table for 7 pm but we were told they couldn't fit us in then. We therefore made a reservation for 7.30. When we arrived there were only two other couples in the restaurant. We were made very welcome and our orders were taken. It took 40 minutes before any bread appeared and over 45 minutes... More

First, let me tell you how sorry I am that we were not able to "wow" you our food and service. Our team works extremely hard to exceed our guest's expectations and we obviously did not achieve that goal the evening you joined us for dinner. We were hosting a wine pairing dinner in our King Alfred Room that evening... More

We spent the day with the throngs of other tourists enjoying the sights and sounds of Colonial Williamsburg, from Fifes & Drums, to horse drawn carriages to costumed staff and colonial-themed restaurants. But now for something completely different! The restaurant is on the somewhat secluded, beautiful grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. There seem to be two dinning rooms, one off... More

We really wanted to give this restaurant more stars, unfortunately the night we went, the food just wasn't up to the ratings it had received. Here's the scoop: Fois gras - 5 stars Ox tail main course - 4 stars Duck main course - 2 stars (very salty, undercooked) Tarte tatin - burned and unedible Service - 4 stars We... More

My mother and I had a lovely Sunday dinner. I enjoyed my perfectly grilled salmon over risotto and she had the best crab cakes 'ever'. The food was fresh and the portions perfect. The seating was comfortable and overlooked a swimming pool. We also shared a marinated pineapple dessert that was just enough to end the meal without overdoing it.... More

Ambience, food, service and wine were all good quality. Others have indicated portion size was too small. We found it just right given the richness of the dishes. Foie gras perfect. Salmon perfectly cooked, and if you want the braised oxtails, get there early before they run out. Wine list was broad enough and reasonably priced..

The food preparation was excellent, except desserts. Serving sizes: too small to just right, overall on the small size. Salads are overpriced. Prices are on the expansive side but given the food quality and preparations are to be expected. Wine list: we struggled with the price for the local vineyard wine: $20 a Glass? Too steep! It's a VA wine,... More

As always, we appreciate the time this guest took to leave a review for us. We are pleased that they enjoyed their meal at the Cafe, and appreciate their kind comments regarding our service. We offer a wide variety of wines by the glass, with prices starting at $7. And yes, we do indeed offer the Williamsburg Winery's 2010 Adagio... More

Magnificent decor, attentive service, incredible dining! A special place. Scottish salmon atop risotto and asparagus tips cannot leave my thoughts. We might consider a room at the Inn so we can return and linger without the one hour fifteen minute ride home curtailing our complete experience.

This is fine dining. Henry's knowledge of wine was very helpful and "spot on." My wife and I planned to eat light, so ordered appetizers and desserts. They were all so tasty and beautifully presented, that we returned the next evening for a complete dinner. My wife ordered their four course special. She loved the scallops and rockfish. The wine...
