Charming, classy, lovely French restaurant

My husband and I were staying at Wedmore Place which is where the Cafe is located. So as part of a package to received a meal here. The food was good but potions were very small! It's not so much the restaurants fault but the resort. They need to make people aware that when they are eating as part of... More

4 1/2 stars. My husband was over the moon about his steak dinner, my grouper (a bit dry) was a little less exciting, though the vegetable accompaniments were very nice. Overall an excellent meal with delicious cocktails, wine, appetizers, and dessert, great service, and lovely ambiance. We look forward to returning!

Absolutely first rate in every regard. Never heard of this restaurant till we bought a package at the winery. Easily on par with any other establishment in the area . Creative and unique dishes, superbly presented with grace and ambiance, coupled with attentive personal service. Worth the drive from Virginia Beach.

My wife and I had dinner at Cafe Provencal for Mother's Day. It was the perfect spot for a special occasion. The setting is intimate, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding! My wife had the duck and I had crab cakes. The crab cakes were terrific and they were the real deal; no filler. There is one... More

What a surprise to pull into a vineyard and nice boutique hotel for dinner. All we were expecting was a restaurant and we got a country dining experience. The wait staff took excellent care of us without hovering too much and the food was very good. The wine list leans heavily towards the local wines but they have a decent... More

Wow! This was an amazing meal - from appetizer to entree to wine and dessert. So perfect and in a charming setting with excellent service. My husband and another couple visited Cafe Provencal a few weeks ago and are convinced that this is the best restaurant in Williamsburg. We each ordered something different and sampled each others. Everything was truly... More

My family, my friend and I were in Williamsburg for a long weekend earlier in the month and wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner. We were scheduled to eat at another local restaurant, but when another friend couldn't come unexpectedly, we changed. When we got to the restaurant we were literally the only ones there. Our server was nice,... More

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful meal at Cafe Provencal last week. My wife had the Wild Boar over polenta and it was very tender. I had saddle of lamb for the first time and it was delicious. I like the taste of lamb but this cut had very little of the lamb taste. My wife had a... More
