Food was generally good, though the kitchen cannot seem to keep up

Everyone enjoyed their food. My halibut was disappointing because it was somewhat overcooked, but it did taste quite delicious. My cauliflower soup was excellent, as was the dessert. Our server was warm and friendly and did not hover too much. Dinner, with one glass of wine, was about $75 per person. I would definitely come back.

Went for an evening meal yesterday and had a great time. Food good, reasonable sized portions and fairly discrete service. Coming from UK not used to waiters saying 'Hi folks my name is ...' but this is an informal country and you just need to go with the flow. A very good map or sat nav needed to find the... More

Cafe Provencal provided us a quiet and delicious anniversary celebration with attentive service. It's mid week (3 course) special dinner menu is a great value and helps to put this restaurant in the price range of most diners - whether local or tourists. Loved the seasoning on our couscous and the lobster bisque starter. The pacing of courses was exceptional.... More

There are special moments in life when we get to experience occasions so wonderful that we just know they will be forever ingrained in our memories. Those are the kind of memories that we are sure will become lasting conversations as we reflect back on life with close friends and family. My trip to Cafe Provencal is one of those... More

We were just in France for three weeks, and the food at Cafe Provencal matched the quality of the two star restaurants where we ate in France. The Master Chef Ika Zaken was in fact trained in France and Belgium and was a Master Chef there for years before moving to Williamsburg with his wife who is from Virginia. And... More

Discovered this incredible place while looking for "Romantic Getaways in Virginia" for my wife's birthday late one evening. Dinner was excellent! We each had a difficult time deciding as it all sounded so good, other tables nearby with dinner already present made the choices even harder! We eventually picked things we said we'd share, but ended up being stingy with... More

A bit pricey but worth it. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Started out with the crab raviolli. Delicious. For my entree I had the pan seared duck breast. Everything on my plate and accompanied party were outstand. A Def recommend.

The restaurant is tucked away in the lower level of the hotel at the Williamsburg Winery. It's not on the way to anywhere. You have to want to visit it. But the trip is worthwhile. The menu isn't overly extensive but there's something for everyone. We visited with a group of 6 and had the duck, halibut, chicken, rack of... More

The restaurants tucked away hard to find and unassuming, but it turns out to be a hidden gem with extremely great food from the appetizers to the entrées everything was delicious... Me and my husband will definitely be coming back the next time we visit williamsburg, it's definitely a place that will keep you coming back and satisfied.....
