We had our anniversary dinner here...made reservations a month in advance, for some reason they had us down for reservations the day before we actually arrived and for Saturday evening...received a phone call the day before we arrived asking why we had not arrived for dinner yet, thus ruining the anniversary surprise...then to top it off the evening of our... We're dropping a star from our experience from last year; apparently they have a new chef who has changed the menu from French to "more Mediterranean" and while still "very good" we can no longer call this is our favorite in Wbrg. The setting, though, is unsurpassed--in a Select Registry hotel on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery, and the... More

We found the Cafe' online while visiting Colonial Williamsburg and took our son and daughter-in-law. The food was fantastic, and the service was personal. When the owner stopped by our table, and we complimented the chef, he remembered and, later as we were leaving, he saw us and silently pointed to the chef so we could thank him personally. A... More

Part of the inn on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. Small place. Get a reservation. Not a countryside/vineyard view but we went to eat and took a walk around the grounds after dinner to see the area.

We tried to reserve a table for 7 pm but we were told they couldn't fit us in then. We therefore made a reservation for 7.30. When we arrived there were only two other couples in the restaurant. We were made very welcome and our orders were taken. It took 40 minutes before any bread appeared and over 45 minutes... More

First, let me tell you how sorry I am that we were not able to "wow" you our food and service. Our team works extremely hard to exceed our guest's expectations and we obviously did not achieve that goal the evening you joined us for dinner. We were hosting a wine pairing dinner in our King Alfred Room that evening... More

We spent the day with the throngs of other tourists enjoying the sights and sounds of Colonial Williamsburg, from Fifes & Drums, to horse drawn carriages to costumed staff and colonial-themed restaurants. But now for something completely different! The restaurant is on the somewhat secluded, beautiful grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. There seem to be two dinning rooms, one off... More

We really wanted to give this restaurant more stars, unfortunately the night we went, the food just wasn't up to the ratings it had received. Here's the scoop: Fois gras - 5 stars Ox tail main course - 4 stars Duck main course - 2 stars (very salty, undercooked) Tarte tatin - burned and unedible Service - 4 stars We... More

My mother and I had a lovely Sunday dinner. I enjoyed my perfectly grilled salmon over risotto and she had the best crab cakes 'ever'. The food was fresh and the portions perfect. The seating was comfortable and overlooked a swimming pool. We also shared a marinated pineapple dessert that was just enough to end the meal without overdoing it.... More

Ambience, food, service and wine were all good quality. Others have indicated portion size was too small. We found it just right given the richness of the dishes. Foie gras perfect. Salmon perfectly cooked, and if you want the braised oxtails, get there early before they run out. Wine list was broad enough and reasonably priced..
