Wonderful meal

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful meal at Cafe Provencal last week. My wife had the Wild Boar over polenta and it was very tender. I had saddle of lamb for the first time and it was delicious. I like the taste of lamb but this cut had very little of the lamb taste. My wife had a... read more

This French restaurant was truly a great experience. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic at dinner time with the dim lighting and candle lit tables. It is a smaller space, so it was quiet and not crowded which made for a very enjoyable dinner. Service from the waitstaff was second to none, and we felt like we were the only ones... More

My wife and I went on the recommendation of a coworker. She and her husband are regulars, and I think we'll also be after this visit. The setting, on the grounds of the winery, is beautiful. The restaurant was cozy, and the service was excellent. Now for the best part...the food. It was absolutely delicious. The Foie gras may be... More

This is off the beaten path, and worth the ride. We were not staying overnight at the hotel, however, discovered this when we made reservations to tour the Williamsburg Winery - they are located together. We dined on a Thursday evening (January), and were treated like royalty, as we were one of only three parties dining that evening. As a... More

We visited in mid-December. The staff was amazingly attentive and very well informed. Our meals were excellent. We had done the premium wine tasting that afternoon and had purchased a bottle of wine to be served at dinner. As it turned out we opted to not have the wine and the staff made sure that we had it with us... More

What a totally lovely environment. Very intimate. But, alas, the dinner was disappointing. The first night of a new menu. My duck breast with roasted vegetable was really blah. My husbands chicken was barely above that. The best part of the meal was the cream of cauliflower soup garnished with roasted almonds. Perfectly velvet (unlike Michael Field suggests) and flavored.... More

My wife and I went here for Valentine's Dinner. All courses were mouth watering and amazing. The service was outstanding...the staff had an eye on everything...and did not miss a beat. The wine recommendations and wine tasting/drinking at the bar before dinner was so much fun! Our experience dining and drinking at the Café Provencal was without a doubt one... More

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The only hard part was finding it the first time! We didn't know that it was located at the Williamsburg Wineries and drove past the entrance. The food was delicious, with wonderful sauces and top notch ingredients. My husband had the Scottish salmon and I had the chicken. We had dinner on 1/1/15 and David's... More

A great location in the Wedmore Place Inn on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. Multi-course French inspired dining. A wonderful way to start the New Year!

As a rule, our family does not eat out on Christmas day, and we are always hassled and exhausted from making ourselves crazy prepping meals for visiting relatives. Never again. We all dined at Cafe Provencal on Christmas Day. We had our own private dining room in what felt like a castle setting. A fantastic server, Josh, who attended to... More
