The food was prepared carefully, the atmosphere was romantic. This restaurant might be a little hard to find, but it's worth looking for. The proximity to the Williamsburg Winery means lots of good wines to choose from. It did get a little loud because every table was full, but it was romantic nonetheless.

Our dinner were extraordinary! The best bouillabaisse I've ever had! Usually you get a lot of red broth and a few pieces of fish and a little shellfish. Not here! Almost all fish and shellfish with a fish-based sauce. I should have taken a picture! When I thought of it, alas, there was nothing left! We had a quiet, romantic... More

We went here for our anniversary dinner. Easily one of the best meals I've ever had. The duck was phenomenal, not greasy, lovely flavor. My husband had a rib-eye special which had a wonderful seasoning and flavor. He also had the mushroom soup as an appetizer which he practically inhaled. It was out of this world. The staff is highly... More

I can't say that this was the best meal I have ever had, but it was enjoyable. The food was good, but nothing really stood out as outstanding. The service on the other hand was some of the best. Our server was attentive and informed and truly made the meal a pleasant one. The atmosphere was a bit sterile for... More

This place is simply wonderful. You can tell great care is put into every aspect of your dinner - the servers are very knowledgable regarding the menu and the food is just exceptional. Go for a special occasion and expect to spend a little more, but you won't regret it. You're guaranteed to have a memorable dining experience. I would... More

This is a true gem hidden in the heart of Virginia. We were here for a special occasion and the staff could not have been better. Excellence front he front door to the kitchen and beyond. Marianne welcomed us and it was the start of a dream dinner. Fabulous food, well prepared, beautifully presented and awesome taste. It could not... More

Having moved to Williamsburg 2 years ago we are still exploring all of the local restaurants with many getting high marks. Café Provencal is a small restaurant tucked away at the Wedmore Place boutique hotel within the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. The winery is a little off the beaten path but is, in reality, a short drive from Colonial... More

This restaurant is in the middle of a vineyard near Williamsburg, VA. We found it on Tripadvisor and had a wonderful time. A little hard to find, but that makes is that much nicer. Food, service and ambiance were fantastic.

Pros Beautifully appointed, excellent staff, expertly prepared food, outstanding wines. Cons None. Tip Have the waiter recommend the wine. This restaurant is easily one of the top restaurants we have visited all around the world. We dined here twice. The first night we wanted to test the kitchen by ordering a dinner composed only of appetizers. The restaurant offered four... More

This restaurant is in a bed and breakfast called the Wedmore pLace within the Williamsburg Winery gates. It is not easy to find and certainly not on the tourist strip where all the chain restaurants are. It is elegant, refined in both ambiance and food. We went with friends from the NY area and all of us felt that this... More
