A real find less than 10 mins from Homestead. Like a ski chalet with a nice view, owned by German couple. Nice break from the resort. We came in summer but imagine it'd be very cozy with big stone fireplace. Quality food but not cheap. We had delicious steaks. Nice choosing bottle from a wine cabinet. Some people ordered drinks... My wife and I were staying at The Homestead and wanted to get good food outside of the resort. We enjoy finding places off the beaten path. We were a little unsure upon arrival but we loved everything in the end. The service was fantastic, but don't expect bubbly personalities that may or may not be sincere. All servers we... More

Great food and service. Shrimp bacon appetizer was to die for and steak was great.

John's Steakhouse has the small, "out of the way" restaurant charm that would have suited it perfectly if paired with outstanding food. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. When compared to the price it failed to deliver in either quality or quantity, which are typically the key drivers to higher priced food. That's not to say the price of... More

Great atmosphere, great food. We were staying at The Homestead and went looking for something different. We were a little sceptical at first, but wow, what a nice evening. In nice weather, the view is great. It was damp and chilly so inside was cozy and warm. Our steak was really, really good. I ordered the small plate petite filet... More

A million dollar outside view with less than desirable quality steak, service and comment from hostess/owner?, Along with the worst steak meat we have ever had. .. We've been to morton, christ ruth, Palms, Gibson for the same price or a bit more and gotten outstanding steak yet this restaurant served very poor quality steak which was over cooked. When... More

We recently ate at John's Steakhouse after a recommendation from a friend. It's a very small restaurant (approx. 15-20 tables) and there were 5 tables occupied while we were there. I believe the hours on the door stated 5:30-8:00pm. The restaurant looks like it was a small house along time ago. There is a nice deck that offers gorgeous views... More

A classic case of a decent restaurant charging the prices of a high end restaurant. While staying at the Homestead, we decided to eat here since we couldn't get last minute reservations at Sam Snead's Tavern. We visited on a Sat evening at around 6:30. There were only two other couples in the restaurant. Atmosphere: Unique. The inside has a... More
